🩸 THE CHAPLET OF DIVINE MERCY IN SONG 💧
SaintBrunoAbbey🩸 THE CHAPLET OF DIVINE MERCY IN SONG 💧 The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is a prayer given by Jesus to St. Faustina Kowalska in the 1930s, when He appeared to her with rays of light streaming from His Heart. It’s prayed on Rosary beads, but instead of Hail Marys and Our Fathers, the prayer turns completely toward God’s mercy: “For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.” The Chaplet was meant as a shield for these times: when despair rises, when death draws close, when sin feels unbearable. Jesus promised St. Faustina that souls who pray it—especially at the hour of death—will be covered by His mercy. It’s short, direct, and can be prayed at any time, but especially at 3:00 PM, the Hour of Mercy, when Christ died on the Cross. At the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA, this devotion flourished. Trish Short recorded her sung version of the Chaplet there, and her music has carried it across the world. That sung Chaplet is so powerful because it pulls the heart into surrender; it makes prayer flow when words alone feel too heavy. The benefits of the Chaplet? Peace in anxiety. Trust in despair. Mercy for the dying. Grace for the sinner. It’s a prayer that doesn’t depend on your strength—you simply beg the Father for mercy through the Passion of His Son. And heaven responds.13 views -
