1972 SNOOPY COME HOME
MemoryCryptofCastleHillsSnoopy, Come Home is a 1972 animated musical film that holds a special, often tear-jerking place in the Peanuts legacy. It follows Snoopy as he receives a letter from his original owner, a girl named Lila, and decides to leave Charlie Brown to visit her in the hospital. The Plot: Accompanied by Woodstock (in his first big-screen appearance), Snoopy journeys cross-country, constantly encountering "No Dogs Allowed" signs and a girl named Clara who tries to keep him captive. The Dilemma: After reaching Lila, Snoopy must choose between his past with her and his present life with the Peanuts gang. Unique Music: It is the only Peanuts film made during composer Vince Guaraldi’s life that he did not score. Instead, the music was written by the Sherman Brothers, famous for their work on Disney’s Mary Poppins. Critical Reception: Despite a modest box office performance, it is considered a classic and is widely regarded as one of the saddest Peanuts stories due to the emotional farewell party held for Snoopy. Snoopy Come Home 1972 Rated G for everyone Bill Melendez in Snoopy Come Home (1972) When Snoopy receives a letter from a girl named Lila, who's in a hospital, he goes on a journey with Woodstock to see her.
