In this video we change the recipe slightly by substituting our emulsifier and adding some corn syrup to help give the gummies a better squish! I explain why you might substitute certain things and what their advantages would be when making gummies. If you make these without infusing them, then you would skip adding the Guar Gum or Lecithin. Note: if you are unsure of how to calculate dosage please check www.scientificedibles.com and use their edible calculator to figure out how much material to add for your desired potency. The general recipe I am using is: 2 Tbsp of Unflavoured Gelatine (Knox or Royal) 2 x 85 Gram Flavoured Gelatine Packets (ex: 3oz Packet of Jello or Royal) 2 Cups of Juice or Water (divided)(240ml) 1 tsp of Mold Inhibitor (I used Potassium Sorbate, but you can use Lemon Juice or LorAnn Mold Inhibitor) 1/2 Cup of Light Corn Syrup 1/8 tsp of Food Colouring (optional) (I'm guessing this measurement, in the end I used 4 squirts of the food coloring bottle) 2 tsp of Food Flavouring (optional) (LorAnn or FunCakes or whatever other brand of concentrated flavouring) 1.5 tsp of Guar Gum (can use Sunflower or Soy, Liquid or Granules) If Infusing, you can use up to 120ml of tincture (I used around 90ml in this recipe), or 1/2 cup of Cannabutter or CannaOil, or use concentrate to reach your desired potency. If not infusing; skip this and also exclude the Guar Gum (you only need that if infusing). I decided to make a batch of Rosin Gummies. Easy to make and taste great! You can substitute the juice of your choice (you can even use water)... optionally you can add colouring and flavouring if you desire and the flavour combinations are endless. When drying your gummies, make sure you dry them for at least 24 hours. If you want to speed up the dry time use a fan. Depending on the temperature and humidity of your environment will determine how long they take to dry. If you do not totally dry them they could end up melting or having other issues. However, I had never made Vegan Gummies. I tried several recipes and ended up going with this simple 5 ingredient recipe. If you do not infuse then it's only 3 ingredients! To aid in the absorption of THC, you should consume a fat along with eating these gummies (ex: a tbsp of peanut butter, a glass of milk or coconut milk, etc). I haven't given up on making a chewy Vegan Gummy, but wanted to release this first recipe while I continue testing. Note: I did not add any type of Mold Inhibitor except for the lime juice which may help add a couple days in the fridge. I put half of the Gummies in the freezer as the ones in the fridge won't last longer than 1-2 weeks. If you are not Vegan and do not have a Gelatine allergy, then I would suggest going with my standard Gummy Recipe as the chewy texture is much more desirable. Note: if you are unsure of how to calculate dosage please check www.scientificedibles.com and use their edible calculator to figure out how much material to add for your desired potency. The general recipe I am using is: 1 Cup of Juice (can be from blended fruit, pulp removed or from store bought juice) 2 tsp of Agar Agar (powder not flakes) 2 tbsp of a sweetener (ex: White Sugar, Honey, Agave, Maple Syrup) 1/2 tsp of Liquid Lecithin 1 - 2 tbsp of Tincture (you can use concentrate or oil in place of the tincture if you desire) If you are making these not-infused then skip the last 2 ingredients. I went out with a couple buddies to watch the match and that made it so my gummies sat in their respective molds for longer than they normally do. This made them dry and stick to the sides of the mold. You could cornstarch your molds to prevent this, however this normally doesn't happen. Normally I de-mold the gummies after they've been in the mold for 1.5-2 hours. The fix is easy, I show you in the video. If you have any questions, please let me know! In this video I go over making Gummies with Tincture and Concentrates. We make 2 batches of Gummies, one with Tincture and one with Feco. I explain some of the differences when making either way along with some things to look out for. Watch the video all the way through it may answer whatever questions you have about making gummies with Tincture or Concentrates. In the next video we will make Gummies with CannaButter and Infused Oil. In the last part of the series we will go over tricks, more tips, more options and some hacks for your Gummies. When using Potassium Sorbate, use roughly 1 tsp for the size batch we are making. The general recipe I am following is: 1 part Flavoured Gelatine 1 part Fruit Juice or Water (or Coconut Water) 0.1 to 0.15 parts Unflavoured Gelatine 1 tsp of Potassium Sorbate If Using Tincture use up to 30% of your flavoured Gelatine by volume.
