Dragons BeyondUsing just the first 4 pages of the Melees and Combat chapter from Dragons Beyond, can we have a battle? Yes we can. Two 1st level Fighting-Men, both with 5 hit points and wearing plate mail square off on a featureless plain. One has a spear and the other a sword. Who will win? Shout out to @memyselfanddierpg for the concept. Edit: And of course I forgot that a 1st level F-M also gets a +1 improved damage, so the Spearman is even luckier because he won the battle with his spear thrust(s) after suffering a grievous slash that took him down to 1 hit point.
