Rainbow ) On Stage ) 1977 (2LP Polydor/Universal/Wax Cathedral Marbled Mint Green Vinyl 2013 US)
THE FABULOUS VINYL LIFEYou are listening to the genuine Hi-Fi stereo sound transferred from the actual vinyl record in the best possible quality. On Stage is a double live album originally released by the hard rock band Rainbow in 1977. It was recorded live over several German and Japanese dates in late 1976 during the Rising world tour. The album was released 1st in the US on 7 July 1977, before being released a week later on 15 July in the UK. The recording features the customary introduction to a Rainbow show – the classic quote from The Wizard of Oz, "Toto: I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore. We must be over the rainbow!" with the last word repeated as an echo, then the actual band plays a musical phrase from the song "Over the Rainbow" before breaking into "Kill the King". A few of the tracks were edited by producer Martin Birch. Mistreated has the guitar/vocal duel removed, the "Lazy" introduction to "Man on the Silver Mountain", the drum solo has been omitted from "Still I'm Sad", and the running order was changed to more easily fit 4 sides of vinyl. Rainbow ) Long Live Rock 'n' Roll ) 1978 (Polydor Japan)
THE FABULOUS VINYL LIFEYou are listening to the genuine Hi-Fi stereo sound transferred from the actual vinyl record in the best possible quality. Long Live Rock 'n' Roll is the 3rd studio album by the British-American hard rock band Rainbow, released on 14 April 1978 and the last to feature original lead vocalist Ronnie James Dio. Recording of the album commenced in April 1977, at a studio in Château d'Hérouville, France, featuring Ritchie Blackmore, Ronnie James Dio and Cozy Powell. Keyboards were initially played on a session basis by former Rainbow keyboardist Tony Carey, while bass guitar was initially played by Mark Clarke. Clarke was soon dismissed, however, and the bass guitar was recorded by Blackmore himself. By July 1977 seven tracks that ended on the album were in demo form. Recording was suspended, while the band recruited bassist Bob Daisley and keyboardist David Stone and thereafter commenced extensive touring of Europe in the summer and autumn of 1977. A return to the Château d'Hérouville studio in December saw the band finish the album and also yielded a final track, "Gates of Babylon". The original vinyl release was in a gatefold-sleeve cover illustrated by Debbie Hall, with a lyric-sheet insert. The crowd picture is actually from a Rush concert, with the wording on the banner the fans were holding replaced by the Rainbow album title and the visible Rush T-shirts airbrushed to black. Rainbow ) Bent Out of Shape ) 1983 ( Polydor Japan)
THE FABULOUS VINYL LIFEYou are listening to the genuine Hi-Fi stereo sound transferred from the actual vinyl record in the best possible quality. Bent Out of Shape is the 7th studio album released by hard rock band Rainbow. It was originally released in September 1983 on Polydor Records. It was recorded at Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen. Bent Out of Shape would be Rainbow's final studio album before their 12-year hiatus from the studio. It also proved to be the band's final studio album with vocalist Joe Lynn Turner, bassist Roger Glover and keyboardist David Rosenthal, and their only one to feature drummer Chuck Burgi, who replaced Bobby Rondinelli just prior to the album's recording sessions. The album was particularly aimed at the US market: the title is an American idiom rather than a British one. However, the album received positive reviews in the U.K. Rainbow: Ritchie Blackmore – guitars Roger Glover – bass, percussion, producer Joe Lynn Turner – vocals David Rosenthal – keyboards Chuck Burgi – drums 🔘 Side 1: Stranded Can't Let You Go Fool for the Night Fire Dance Anybody There 🔘 Side 2: Desperate Heart Street of Dreams Drinking with the Devil Snowman Make Your Move105 views 2 comments -
