A happy-go-lucky young man from Indiana, Lon Decker, who has hopes of becoming a sportswriter. He encounters a cunning old guy named "Mac" Dougal while traveling across the middle and southwest regions of the United States. Dougal has a hint of theft and enjoys dosing a horse or two to secure his wagers on quarter-horse races.

When famed hunter Bob Rainsford is shipwrecked on the treacherous reefs around a strange island, he finds himself the guest of the reclusive and eccentric Count Zaroff. Despite his initial graciousness, Zaroff eventually coerces Rainsford and two other survivors of the disaster, Eve and Martin Towbridge, into playing a cruel game of cat and mouse in which he is the hunter and they are the prey.

This is the Army, a brand-new all-soldier production, is ordered to be staged during World War II by his son Johnny Jones, who was formerly his father's assistant. However, he faces issues in his personal life because he won't wed his fiancée until the war is ended.

Beasley intends to abduct Gayner's daughter in order to obtain his land. However, Dale hears about their scheme and abducts her. Beasley murders Gayner when he comes to get his daughter, and the Sheriff arrests Dale for the crime.

To the detriment of both his patients and the lady who truly loves him, a young physician managing a health farm for polio patients becomes enamored with a wealthy and attractive society girl.
