World Tour Cycling

Thought this was funny--normally the stage winner takes a sip of the bubbly but Sepp looked especially thirsty

I love watching this--three teammates who collectively have won seven grand tours and Sepp Kuss of the in the middle, winning his first in a major, major upset as the first U.S. grand tour winner in 10 years. Jumbo Visma has absolutely dominated world tour riding this year and these three who fought with and against each other for so long are playing like little kids. Yes, some will say this glorifies alcohol consumption--not if you spray it on each other! I see God more in the way we can find light hearted moments to celebrate love for each other. Unfortunately those I loved the deepest rejected and are still rejecting me. It's those I long to play with, to enjoy God with us--God is love. So I really enjoy watching this--it's not often I see three grown adults having so much fun. I have to admit, I was choked up watching this. It's also definitely hurtful that none of my friends or family even care to hear about the sport I've love for over 35 years, so I watch and enjoy this alone, suck it up and go to work, which is why I tend to be stoic--I've pushed my feelings down for so long, I find it near impossible to express them anymore--but that's a personal issue! Let's eat a pile of meat and get on with the day! May Jonas, Primoz and Sepp never forget this day. We are not accidents--we all have a purpose in this life and sometimes it's just to bring joy to others.

When we step back we can see--all creation has a purpose, a beauty of its own. There are no accidents with God--everything you see here--the mountains, the dudes pedaling them, the brain and eyes you use to view God's beauty were not of human creation. They are infinitely complex and wonderful. The bicycles were created with the hands and the brains we are born with through no credit of our own. One can add oil, add gasoline, wax, and maintain an automobile, but that doesn't give us credit for creating that automobile. I love cycling because I get to take this beautiful body God lovingly gave me and tour His creation. I often dedicate my rides, my runs, my effort to the glory of God because without Him I am nothing. To me, cycling is worship.
