How to Fix a Jammed Pedestal Washer Drawer-Date: 6/23/2021
Washer & Dryer HowToIn this video I tell you how to fix the problem if the pedestal washer drawer gets jammed when you try to pull it out. I know it's their because I was watching as the washers were stacked and put together. There is a rectangular plastic cover under the main washer that you unscrew and remove to be able to gain access to opening and the lid. WARNING: This is at least a 2 person job because in order to resolve the problem, it requires removing the main washer from the top of the pedestal washer to be able to gain access the access port to be able to relatch the lid. A jammed drawer is usually caused by overloading the washer which can cause the latch on the lid to pop open causing the lid to be pushed up and getting caught on the lip of the frame when you try to pull the drawer out. The lock that engages when you start the washer only prevents you from being able to pull the drawer out while the washer is in operation. It won't prevent the latch on the lid from popping if you overload the washer. Disclaimer: This video is for demonstration purposes only. I assume no responsibility for any damage or injuries that may occur because lifting the main washer off and putting back on the pedestal washer is at least a 2 person job.12 views -
Remote Control for the LG Sidekick Pedestal Washer-Date: 4/1/2021
Washer & Dryer HowToThis is a short video to show you the optional remote control that you can get for the LG Sidekick Pedestal washer. This remote does not come with the washer. You have to order it separately from LG. The link where you can order one is below. I bought it now because we all know how later on down the road things often get discontinued and I wanted to be able to have one for myself. As you can see in the video, the remote allows you to turn the washer on and off and to start/pause a wash cycle with any of the main wash cycles. The only things you can control with the remote is if you want to add or remove the warm water option. You also can't start a "Tub Clean" cycle, add extra rinses or engage and disengage the child lock option. It also has a magnet in it so you can hang it on the side of your machines. It uses one of those flat round button style batteries to power it. The replacement number for the battery is: CR2025. The remote sensor is on the right side of the control panel next to the extra rinse option. This remote may seem like silly option. But it might be helpful for those who can't stay bent over for very long. Here is a link to where you can order the remote (It worked when the video was posted): https://lgparts.com/item/11057913/LG/... At the time I posted this video, this is where you can get the remote and the link worked. I can't guarantee that LG won't discontinue this remote at some point. But for now, you can get them here.12 views 1 comment -
About the Special Measuring Cup for the LG Sidekick Pedestal Washer-Date: 12/30/2020
Washer & Dryer HowToThis is as short video to help you understand the small blue measuring cup that is supposed to come with the LG pedestal washer when you buy it. It is used to measure the detergent and in the final rinse, the fabric softener into the washer. It holds approximately 1tsp. of HE (High Efficiency) detergent and fabric softener. Use 1/2 a tsp. or less if you are using a non-HE detergent in this washer. You are supposed to be able to throw the whole measuring cup into the washer if you would like. But I never do it because I hate trying to find it afterwards. It is not a good idea and it is not recommended to use bleach when washing clothes in this washer because of how little water it uses. You can add a small amount when you use the "Tub Clean" cycle to help kill any bacteria or anything else that may be in there. Places like Lowes and Home Depot often forget to give this to you if they deliver it for you. Make sure they give it to you or file a complaint because it is very hard to get these even from LG otherwise. If you need a new one or if your machine didn't come with one of these measuring cups, they are hard to find and you can't get them from the manufacture which is stupid. But I did manage to find a place to get a replacement measuring cup. If you order one, I recommend ordering several and store the extras away until you need them. Here is a link to where I got a few extra measuring cups for myself (I can't guarantee it will always work. But it worked at the time I posted this link): https://partsdr.com/part/mcu62241001-detergent-dispenser3 views -
Let the Pedestal Washer Dry Out After Use-Date: 12/30/2020
Washer & Dryer HowToIt's a good idea to let the pedestal washer drawer out and the lid open for a day or so after your done using it to allow it to dry out so it doesn't build up mold and mildew. There is very little air movement inside the washer compartment when everything is closed and the drawer pushed in which can cause odors to linger as well as mold and mildew buildup that can end up in your clothes. You should also consider running the "Tub Clean" cycle after your finished to help wash out any remaining residue too and then leave it open to dry out. After it dries out for a few hours, you can then close the lid and push in the drawer.1 view -
Introducing My Pedestal Washer-Date: 12/30/2020
Washer & Dryer HowToIn this video I show you my pedestal washer and the various stages of a wash cycle. I also show you how to measure the detergent and fabric softener for the load. This washer can handle approximately 4 pounds of laundry which is about 4 bath towels. This washer and the main washer can be run both at the same time. And if you have the matching dryer, you can dry both loads in it at the same time. It is not recommended to use bleach in this washer when washing your clothes. But you can use a small amount when you use the "Tub Clean" cycle to help clean it out. You can't see much because this washer won't run when the drawer is out. You can set the cycle while it's out. But it won't actually start until the drawer is pushed in because the drawer locks during the wash cycle. You can also pause the cycle if you need to open the drawer to add something and when it's time to add the fabric softener during the final rinse which is indicated when you hear a 2 tone sound while it's filling for the final rinse. One thing to keep in mind. You only have cold or warm water for the wash cycle. This washer doesn't have a straight hot water option. This washer is really more meant for small loads and the more delicate items you wouldn't want to wash in the big washer. Another thing to keep in mind. This washer will not operate as a stand alone washer. It needs to have the matching front load washer on top of it to operate. It has a sensor that will prevent it from operating otherwise. It needs the weight of the big washer to hold it down in the event it has an unbalanced load in it. I probably won't make many videos with this washer because you can't see much because it won't run unless it is pushed in. This video was made during the COVID 19 pandemic when we all were wearing masks to protect ourselves. I quite often had to do a load of masks like this in between loads of laundry for my wife. I know a lot of us know about the pandemic now. But in a few years the pandemic will hopefully be over by then and future generations that might see this may be interested in knowing why we were wearing masks like these. It turns out that COVID was brought to us by the democrats to try and control us.5 views
