My Japanese Video Game Collection 125 RPG Tsukuru 2
thecchannelThis is the sequel to RPG Tsukuru Super Dante. Once again you get to make your very own RPG game. In a way this is a lot easier to work with than Super Dante. You get new characters and monsters to make and in this game you can make your whole own world map. The music library is a little bigger than Super Dante and you can make new kinds of items. The gameplay itself is exactly the same thing as Dragon Quest or Super Dante. One last thing that is different about this game is the cassette itself. It has a small cartridge slot on top (Like the Super Game Boy) where you insert a Satellaview Memory Pak in which I don't know what that is? This is a good game and I know that this is not for everyone unless you want to make your own 16-bit RPG game but I would recommend this one for the Japanese game collectors. The game was broadcasted by the BS-X satellaview in Janurary of 1996 and it ended in 1997. Throughout my childhood I grew up in the 16-bit era from the 2nd grade all the way to my freshman year at high school. I even played a little bit of the Super Nintendo when I was in high school and after I graduated. The Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis era is still a part of my life and it is my favorite era of video games. As I'am writing this I still have all my fonded memories of playing Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo with all my friends and family members. I'll come back to the 16-bit era again in the future for sure. I got some more games to hunt down and buy as many imported 16-bit era games as I can. Until then on to the 32-bit era.272 views 1 comment -
My Japanese Video Game Collection 124 Star Fox 2
thecchannelI still remember along time ago I first read about Star Fox 2 in a gamepro magazine and I was really excited about it because I loved the first Star Fox game and I really wanted it. But my heart broke when I learned that the game was cancelled and it never saw the light of day. I was sad but I got over it when Star Fox 64 came out and It was my favorite Star Fox game ever. Fast Forward to 2017 when the Super Famicom Mini came out and guess what? Star Fox 2 was finally going to be released on it so I bought it and I finally got to play Star Fox 2 22 years after it was cancelled. Now Star Fox 2 can also be played on the Nintendo Switch online in the Super Famicom section which I used in this video. Andorf is back and he wants revenge on Corneria and the Star Fox team. It plays completely different than the first game. You have to protect Corneria from getting hit by missiles and enemy battleships. You also have to go to planets to destroy enemy bases and wipe out all the enemies on the map before you reach Andorf. This game is also the first appearance of Star Wolf which is a rival team of Star Fox. Overall after 22 long years I finally got to play this game and it was worth it. The reason it got cancelled in the first place because Nintendo was announcing the Nintendo 64 for next year. Plus at this point everyone started playing the Sony Playstation, Sega Saturn, Bandai Playdia and PC-FX.250 views 1 comment -
My Japanese Video Game Collection 123 Super Nazo Puyo Tsuu Rulue No Tetsuwan Hanjyouki
thecchannelSo, it's just Puyo Puyo and that's basically it. Nothing very special. It does have an RPG mode, and I played that mode, but it sucks because it has too many puzzles you got to solve, and I just don't like it. At least there is an endless mode where you can just play Puyo Puyo and not worry about anything else. The game can be challenging at some points because some of the puyo puyo's drop so fast you can't rotate or move them in time. And what's with this whole Act Against Aids thing? Were they doing an Aids awareness in a video game and there is a phone number that is displayed but I can promise you it is no longer in serivce. Plus it's in japanese. It's a fun game but I have played Dr.Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and I find that more fun than this.164 views -
My Japanese Video Game Collection 122 Dragon Ball Z Super Gokuden: Totsugeki - Hen
thecchannelAll you basically do is read and get into battles in this game. First of all why is this game branded Dragon Ball Z which is only about Dragon Ball and the adventures of Goku that goes all the way through the Dragon Ball series. It's just read, read and read most of the time and sometimes you get into battles which the battle system sucks ass. You wait til Goku gets to the center of the screen and starts flashing. Then you perform an attack by hitting the D-Pad and press A. However your opponent gets to act faster than you and you will get your ass handed very easily. So from what I can tell about this game. This game sucks and nobody should play this game. If I wanted to read Dragon Ball I would rather read the Manga than waste my time oin this pile of garbage. This game came out in 1995 the same year that the Dragon Ball manga ended. (It ran from 1984 - 1995 in Shonen Jump.)172 views -
My Japanese Video Game Collection 121 RPG Tsukuru Super Dante
thecchannelIn this game you don't just play a RPG game you actually make a RPG game. That's right you get to make your very own RPG with RPG Tsukuru Super Dante!!!! You get to create your own characters using the sprites the game gives you. Give them a name, stats, level of magic. Create your own monsters using the sprites the game gives you, Make your own Items, Weapons, Armor, Magic Spells, Oh Boy! There is so much you can do in this game. You can make your own dungeons, castles, houses, but you can only pick 4 different world maps. (You can't make your own world map. So you get is what you get.) There are also events you can make. Like Changing BGM, Engaging in battle, Shops, Inns, Display Messages, Switches and so on and so on. However you have a limit of how many dungeons, Items, Spells, characters, monsters, etc. you can make. You can also play a sample game in which is included in this game. I decided to make a short RPG to show you what you can do in this game. Maybe in the future I'll make a whole RPG out of this and show it to you. I forgot to mention that I once found out about this game in a nintendo power magazine back in 1996. Now 30 years later I bought the exact same magazine and I still remember it. How cool is that?205 views 1 comment -
My Japanese Video Game Collection 120 The Legendary Video Game
thecchannelWhat do you get when you put together the legendary video game creators Yuji Horii, Hironobu Sakaguchi, The legendary Composer Nobuo Uematsu and the legendary manga artist Akira Toriyama? Why you get the Legendary Video Game. The legendary video game was first released for the Super Famicom in March of 1995 and later be ported to the Playstation and Nintendo DS with animated cutscenes and new content. In this game you play as a young man name Crono, A hot genius girl name Lucca and a Princess Name Marle who goes off time traveling to meet a Sword Slashing Frog, A fighting Robot, A badass cave woman and an evil powerful wizard. They join together to prevent "The Day Of Lavos" from happening and change the future for the better. It has a unique battle system in which it doesn't have random encounters like all other RPG's I have been playing so far. When in battle you can perform combo moves in which 2 or 3 party members can unleash powerful combo moves or spells. One other thing is that when you beat the game the first time you unlock New Game + which allows you to start the game from the beginning but you keep all your weapons, armor, spells, items, stats, etc. That's what I did for this video so I can show you much of the game as I can before I decided to fight Lavos. I remember renting this game back in the late summer of 1996 and I really loved this game and I wanted it since then. 2 summers later I had a summer job and I was able to buy the game and I was glad that I spent the rest of my summer of 1998 playing this game. But the greatest part about the legendary video game is the legendary character.............Lucca!!!!!218 views -
My Japanese Video Game Collection 119 Mortal Kombat 2
thecchannelThis one is my favorite mortal kombat game of the franchise. I've loved Mortal Kombat 2 more than any other Mortal Kombat game out there. I still remember my mom got me this game for my 12th birthday and it was attended for adults. That's because it has the original blood and fatalities. It also has new finishing moves such as Friendship, and Babality in which you turn your opponent into a baby. This is the japanese version of the Mortal Kombat 2 on the Super Famicom. In the japanese version the blood color is green. (So the blood of a japanese person is green?) The fatalities in the japanese version makes no sense. When you do a fatality the screen goes black and white and you can still see someone get scorched and explode, Get their heads chopped off, Someone ripping arms off, Or getting kissed and grow fat and explode. What kind of censorship is this? Really? But is the game more easier than the first japanese mortal kombat game? Yes it is. The japanese learned their lesson quite well on not making any U.S. games more harder.292 views 3 comments -
My Japanese Video Game Collection 118 Sankyo Fever Fever
thecchannelIt's a Pachinko game and that is pretty much it. In case you don't know what a Pachinko machine is? A Pachinko machine is a japanese casino type of slot machine where you use beads to shoot in the Pachinko machine. As you can see in the video the goal is to shoot the beads into the middle slot to have the Reels start spinning. When the reel spins you can win extra beads but if you get 3 7's in a row you get the bonus and watch your beads go up by the thousands. I played a real Pachinko machine back in 2016 at a friend's game shop and I liked it. I should go see online if I can find a Pachinko Machine.222 views 1 comment -
My Japanese Video Game Collection 117 Dragon Ball Z Super Butoden 3
thecchannelIt's basically the same thing as the 2 previous games but here you fight as characters from the Majin Buu Saga. The game has no story mode or anything like that. You just pick 2 characters and have them smack the shit outta each other and that's pretty much it. No ending, No story, No plot. You just beat each other up and that's pretty much the whole game.194 views -
My Japanese Video Game Collection 116 Go Go Trunks
thecchannelGo Go Trunks (Go Go Ackman) was a manga created by Akira Toriyama and it was one of those one shot Manga that he did. You can read it in Akira Toriyama theatre if you can find a copy. In this game you play as Trunks who the angels are sent out to stop him from collecting souls from humans. I don't know who the angels are but they're the bad guys in this game. It's a platform game where you get from point A to point B. Pretty simple really. Except that sometimes you end up in a death pit and you don't know where to land if you go up too high. You also get weapons to help you fight enemies more easily but if you even take 1 hit you lose that weapon so that's when you don't fuck around. Other than that, it's a good game and I don't find anything wrong with it.234 views
