Her Vice-Chair, Donna Rice I've known since middle school, so it was exciting to see her elected with Kayla. It will be awesome to hear about her plans and thoughts about the next several years! If you've given up on the Oklahoma Republican Party (as I have), you'll want to tune in. Kayla may be just the person to restore our faith and get the party moving back toward a position of strength again. Want to create live streams like this? OK Representative Jim Shaw - Holding Ground
ROPE ReportJim Shaw is a family man who left the private business he created after he sold it. He expected to homestead with his family in rural Lincoln County, but instead, he was thrust into a fight against private wind turbine companies - subsidized with millions in public taxpayer dollars - installing wind turbines across the beautiful rolling Oklahoma hills where he'd made his home. Rather than sit down and let life happen to him, he and his intrepid wife Danna Jo, decided that he should run for office against an entrenched, powerful, Chair of the House Appropriations Committee who happened to be his local Representative. As happens when citizens get off the sidelines, help came from all quarters across the county to get him elected. Since his election, Jim's been banned from legislation and treated like a pariah in the Capitol. Truly, how dare he take out a seated Appropriations Chair? On Friday, Jim will talk with us about his journey so far. Join us live to comment, ask questions and to give him some kudos for just holding his ground for us.190 views 2 comments -
Mr. Woolley Goes To The Legislature - OK Representative Gabe Woolley
ROPE ReportFormer public school educator, documentary producer, podcast host, publisher, Gabe Woolley got involved in politics via his family's very public fight to return his nephew, Clayton Woolley, to the custody of his family after he was removed by DHS following the death of Clayton's brother Elijah. A producer of the very popular documentary produced by Red River Media, Saving Clayton, Woolley made the decision to run for his district's open seat during the 2024 election cycle. This year has been Woolley's first legislative session. Like drinking from a fire hose, Gabe's gotten more experience than he probably expected and has doubtless seen things he may not have been prepared for. We're going to ask him to give us a review of what he thinks so far and some of the more interesting aspects of his new job. You won't want to miss this podcast - at a SPECIAL TIME - Friday, the 24th of April at 1pm! Tune in live to ask questions and let him know how much you appreciate him going to the House.116 views 2 comments -
Sending Tax Dollars To Non-Public Schools - What Could Go Wrong?
ROPE ReportWednesday, April 30th, 2025, our friend, Robert Bortins, CEO of Classical Conversations - a homeschool curricula and program - will be with Michael and Jenni to talk about vouchers. School Choice has long been a generic term used to describe the kinds of ways parents can educate their children. Here in Oklahoma, parents are VERY free to educate their children in the way that they feel suits them best,. We have unfettered homeschooling (where parents don't have to report how they educate their kids in their own home to the government), brick and mortar public charter schools, virtual public charter schools, public magnate schools, district transfer, online private schools, brick and mortar private schools. But what happens when state funds are sent to private - or homeschools - so that parents who can't afford it (and even some who can) can send their children to private schools or school them at home? What does this interchange of public money into private areas do to the form of schooling? What about the students? Robert - like ROPE - has been a longtime critic of vouchers. We'll find out why. Join us LIVE on Facebook, YouTube, Rumble, X and LinkdIn to be part of the discussion!167 views 1 comment -
