CW4Kids May 22, 2010 Magical DoReMi S1 Ep 5 Witch Conya Of The Lunaverse
TThe Classic ChannelOne noisy morning at the Harukaze household, Doremi and Pop awaken to their feuding parents. Haruka caught Keisuke trying to sneak out instead of cleaning the gutters like he was supposed to. They are temporarily distracted when Doremi runs past them in a hurry, as its unlike her to get up early when she doesn't have to. Doremi, Hazuki and Aiko meet up at the shop and take inventory, excitedly anticipating the grand opening. Majorika is still bitter over them changing it without her permission, causing them to start teasing her. They accuse her of being jealous because she didn't have a say in it. As this is going on, Kotake walks through town. He appears frustrated when he happens to notice a flier for the Maho-do. He tosses it into the trash. The girls are disappointed as it goes on one pm. The day was a bust, nobody showed up. They attempt to figure out why that was, and Majorika quickly interjects by saying that they are being punished. The shop was popular before- words the girls doubt. Suddenly, they hear someone singing and a strange woman pops out of the closet nearby. She introduces herself as Dela, then Majorika suspiciously asks her what she wants. It wasn't the day she pays her. Dela takes out a chic and cute-looking cash register, a gift for the shop's reopening. But they still have to pay for it. Majorika isn't surprised, but the girls really want it anyway. She tells Dela to take it back, until the girls cutely guilt trip her into reconsideration. Once Dela leaves. Aiko suggests that instead of sitting around they should head out to drum up business. Doremi and Hazuki praise her Osaka spirit and they head out. The girls return to the shop with some people they managed to convince to check out the shop. Aiko manages to persuade a couple to buy a charm, and Hazuki handles the register. Doremi is distraught because nobody wants the items she made. Then Kotake shows up and her patience wears thin as he observes the shop. He expresses surprise they're working and asks about this, causing them to quickly claim that they are helping "Aiko's cousin's grandmother". Kotake finds the excuse reasonable, so he drops it. He then locates the charms made by Doremi and makes fun of her, until one happens to catch his attention. He picks it up and decides to buy it, for the sake of a cheap laugh. Doremi remains in a foul mood as he leaves, and once the coast is clear Majorika appears. She reasons that for Kotake to come here on his own, he must have a problem. Usually, only people who are troubled or have a large desire can locate the shop without help. She warns the girls that because they are Apprentice Witch, their items might not work, and this troubles Doremi. Since Kotake bought something, she decides to follow him in order to find out what happened, and to let him know about the charm. Doremi locates Kotake in town and begins to trail him. But when he spots her, he tells her off and isn't interested in listening to her. Doremi becomes annoyed and brushes it off, claiming that she came this way because a specific shop sells a juice she likes. Kotake doesn't believe her, since they already passed a shop. Doremi attempts to say the store she is going to is further down the path, but he teases her by wondering if she's just following him because she has a crush on him. Doremi becomes furious, but she quickly calms down to ask Kotake if something is bothering him. He tells her off again and leaves, but she's still suspicious so she transforms and flies up into the sky to follow him more discretely. She follows Kotake to a junkyard to find a puppy that he's been taking care of. Kotake apologizes to "Pal", expressing that he really wants to get him to a safe place. But he's too afraid to tell his parents and ask for permission to keep him. Suddenly, the Mean Cat appears to swipe Pal's food, and it runs into the factory. Pal and Kotake chase after it but the cat and Pal fall into a pit. The cat manages to escape as Kotake locates a ladder and climbs down to save Pal. But in the process one of the bars break, causing him to fall into the pit and hit his head, temporarily knocking him out. Doremi panics after realizing concrete is beginning to fill the pit, and she casts magic to freeze it. But this causes the entire pit to freeze, including Kotake and Pal. Kotake is so cold that he wakes up, and Doremi hurriedly hides to avoid being seen while trying to save them. She uses magic to get rid of the ice and concrete, then tries to use a rope to lift them up to safety. Her magic backfires and the rope wraps around her ankle, pulling her upside-down to hang from the ceiling. This frightens the mean cat and it knocks some tires and an empty crate loose. They fall into the pit and Kotake grabs Pal, using these as a makeshift escape. Realizing how dangerous this area really is, Kotake decides that he has to be brave. He can't let Pal stay in a place like this. He takes off with Pal while Doremi expresses relief, watching them. Until she recalls that she's still hanging from the ceiling, and she starts freaking out after realizing that she's out of Magic Spheres. She begins to weep, worried that she might never escape. Just then, the rope snaps and she falls to the ground. The following day the girls notice Pal is being walked by Kotake, which most-likely means his parents agreed to let him keep Pal. They wonder why Doremi ended up helping him, since they don't like each other. Doremi claims it isn't important, happily observing them before they return to work inside the shop.194 views 1 comment -

TThe Classic ChannelDoremi has a terrible nightmare involving a large pipe and she awakens in a grumpy mood. She heads downstairs and trips, alarming her family. Their words cause her further agony as they remind her of the dream she had. This continues as she makes her way to school, when she keeps seeing things reminding her of the exam coming up; a boy on a slide, a paper plane falling down, and a woman who drops her blanket. While Hazuki and Aiko try to comfort Doremi at school, she doesn't feel any better, and her anxiety reaches its peak after Seki-Sensei reveals Doremi's test score. She teases her by saying she might have to repeat third grade and to her shock, Doremi passes out. Aiko and Hazuki assure her that everything is fine, and that Doremi was overworked from the abacus class they are taking. They offer to take her to the Nurse. Doremi wakes up in the office and initially, she believes she had a dream. Until she sees the test in her hand. Yuki-Sensei arrives to comfort her and tries to give Doremi some advice by stating that dreams and reality are opposite to one another, so she believes that if someone has a bad dream, then good things are sure to happen. These words comfort Doremi and she dedicates herself to pass the exam. Evening arrives, and Doremi has changed into Apprentice form. She instructs Dodo to act as her after hearing her family begin to stir, then she takes off. Everyone meets up at the shop and head inside to find Mota and MotaMota waiting for them. They lead the girls to a group of desks nearby and explain how this exam is done in parts- the test plays a big role in determining how the rest of it goes, so its done first. On the paper, the girls are asked to write down what they hate the most, and Doremi and Hazuki write down Math and ghost respectively. Aiko, who seems suspicious instead writes takoyaki. Upon finishing the girls are told that they have three hours to find their destination and stick a flag on the object they describe: Something with ten legs. But it shouldn't be mistaken for a thing with eight legs. They take off and head into a dark and creepy forest, causing them to wonder if they got lost. Hazuki grows anxious and uncomfortable after Aiko mentions they may see a ghost, and Hazuki confesses that she wrote that down on her paper, as she's afraid of them. The girls find amusement in this until they notice she seems frightened, and they turn to find a group of ghosts looking at them. The trio run away in fright until they can scare the monsters away by making horrific expressions. The girls continue to discuss Aiko's theory and Doremi becomes very uneasy as they arrive to their next area to find a young witch and desks. Majopon explains that they have to get at least 70 points on this test if they want to continue. Aiko and Doremi are upset upon hearing this but Hazuki is confident. She quickly finishes, and this leads Aiko and Doremi to transform into her, thinking it will help them. Nothing changes however, leading Majopon to point out that only their bodies changed, not their brains. But this leads Hazuki to get an idea, and they distract Majopon long enough for her to swap places with both girls so that she can do their test papers too. Meanwhile, watching the girls from where they left them, Mota and MotaMota are concerned having watched them cheat just then. Majorika doesn't agree, anything goes in a magic exam. Majopon goes over the scores and everyone passes with 100% scores. By now Doremi and Hazuki find themselves anxious and they wonder what Aiko wrote down on her paper- but she refuses to say. As they reach a food stand she feigns upset and Majopon joins them to reveal that the ten-legged wont appear if they don't eat the Takoyaki. The Octopus who runs the stand appears and he prepares the girls some takoyaki; which they down with little effort since they are hungry. Although they act as they hate it for the sake of avoiding trouble before asking for another plate. While the octopus is confused he doesn't question them, and soon they eat him out of stock. Except for one dish, which he is saving for his girlfriend, Surumeko, who he has been forbidden from seeing. As they are different species their love being forbidden, and to ensure he didn't sneak around, the leader Octopus used magic on him, so now he can no longer swim. The girls express remorse and they feel bad for the couple -along with Majopon- but they aren't sure if they can do anything about it. They have little time left and they have to finish their exam, but they don't want to leave behind Hachitarou in such a sad state either. In order to help out, the trio decide to cast Magical Stage. A float appears along with a long, red string. Hachitarou jumps onto it and the string leads him to the center of the lake, where he happily sees Surumeko up ahead. They confess their feelings, and suddenly it dons on the girls that they found the ten-legged creature after all: Surumeko is a quid. They put the flag on Surumeko's head and leave, unaware of the carriage floating by in observation. Heading back the girls are alarmed after being told they failed due to taking too long. Majorika begins to scream at Doremi and tells her not to waste time thinking about others so much until a bright light begins to shine in the area. The girls are surprised to see the queen within the carriage, and she expresses joy in their selflessness. She tells Motamota and Mota to let them pass and leaves, allowing the girls to celebrate their victory.297 views 1 comment -
CW4Kids May 15, 2010 Magical DoReMi S1 Ep 4 Dustin' The Old Rusty Broom
TThe Classic ChannelAs she thinks about her decision, Doremi leads Aiko and Hazuki in an unknown direction. They try to ask for an explanation but she refuses, promising to tell them later. They come to the shop and neither Hazuki or Aiko can identify it. Doremi asks them to stay there before running inside, quickly updating Majorika and Lala about what happened. They begin to freak out and they spot the duo looking through the shop window at them, causing them to go into hiding before they come inside. As the curious duo look around the foreboding shop, Doremi attempts to change the subject but they aren't buying it. Lala then pops out of her hiding spot to observe the hysterical girls, and Hazuki puts two-and-two together and calls Doremi a Witch. Doremi screams but to her surprise, nothing happens. Majorika bluntly informs her that because she is an apprentice she can't change into a witch frog yet, but she will if it happens a second time. Doremi is relieved but Majorika scolds her carelessness- although she brushes her off, instead deciding to introduce the girls to Makorika and Lala. She then goes on to explain how she became an Apprentice and the girls promise not to repeat anything that they have witnessed today. Majorika doesn't trust their word, so she will just have to make them Apprentice Witch too. At first, the girls are unsure until Doremi convinces them that it would be a lot of fun, and the girls realize having magic could come in handy. Majorika has Lala grab the tap box and the girls set their things down as Doremi goes on to show them the ropes by transforming. Aiko and Hazuki are very impressed, giving Doremi an ego boost until Majorika insults her. Aiko volunteers to transform first and she gets it with no problems, but when Hazuki tries she gets flustered after her dress gets caught on her glasses, and before she can pull it down, the song ends and her uniform vanishes. Majorika complains and she tries again, this time barely managing after Doremi and Aiko step in to help her out. With that, Doremi goes on to show them how to cast magic and they summon their individual wands. Doremi remarks on how different they look from hers as Aiko makes an attempt at remembering her magic spell, but she messes up and gets something vaguely similar to what she was trying to make. She is encouraged to keep trying, but Majorika yells at her for being so wasteful with her Magic Spheres. Hazuki takes a turn and is complimented by Majorika for getting it right on her first try. An envious Doremi decides to try casting a successful spell this time, but she accidentally casts it on a suit of armor, causing it to come to life. The trio run away in fright as it chases after them with its sword, swinging it around wildly and trashing the place until they manage to make it stop. The girls begin to clean up when Lala points out that now would be a good time for the girls to learn about Forbidden Magic. She agrees and mentions the three types: Healing, Bringing the dead back to life, and Manipulation. She then brings up the exams but because of them still being so new, they're nowhere near ready to even attempt them. The girls request more Magic Spheres but Lala reveals the bag they kept them in is now empty, so they will have to wait until the next day to get more because she must wait until the Witch World portal is open. She then reveals that the girls will be working at the shop, and while Doremi still isn't keen on the idea, Aiko and Hazuki manage to get her reconsider after realizing it could be a lot of fun. Realizing how late it is the girls prepare to leave, but in the process they notice how old-fashioned the shop is. The following day the girls decide its time for a makeover. They run out to fetch supplies and explain their rejuvenation plans to Lala, expressing that its aesthetic isn't appealing to humans. They are momentary distracted when Aiko arrives flying on her broom like a pro, and when asked how she did it, she recalls the "talk" she had with it on the way over. The girls wait until Majorika leaves to get started and Lala decides to lend them a hand, wondering how Majorika will react when she returns. Besides cleaning the shop, the girls also paint it brighter colors, get rid of its dark atmosphere, make some new items for display and décor, they even come up with a brand new name. Upon finishing they head out into town to pass out fliers for the grand reopening of the Maho-do. Majorika returns soon after and is very unhappy to find the shop has been changed, and despite everyone's protest that the previous design wasn't getting her any business, she refuses to accept the changes. But when they take a vote on it she has no choice but to let the changes stick and grumpily chews out Lala for agreeing with the girls. They resume working until the sun begins to set, deciding to call it a day so that they can rest up for tomorrow.188 views 1 comment -
CW4Kids May 1, 2010 Magical DoReMi S1 Ep 2 Being Dorie, Being Reanne
TThe Classic ChannelWhile Doremi admires herself in her bedroom's mirror, Majorika arrives to fuss over her lack of focus. Lala tries to explain to Doremi how bad it could be if someone catches her, but Doremi barely listens. She asks for more magic spheres and while filling her wand, they explain that she will need to work at the shop starting the day after to help pay for them. Doremi wants to argue but isn't given the chance when someone knocks on her door. The duo hide after helping the flustered young girl return to normal, just in time for Pop to walk into her bedroom. She has come to inform Doremi that she finished using the bath and it's her turn. She teases her before leaving, and Majorika decides to get going. But not before reminding Doremi about the shop again. She warns her to come early in the morning, and she takes off before Doremi can protest. The next day, Majorika complains about how late Doremi is when they hear a loud crash in the backyard. They come outside to find that Doremi is still struggling with her broom. She puts it away and requests more Magic Spheres, and as Lala refills her wand they begin to discuss the exams Doremi will need to take in order to grow as an apprentice. Doremi prepares to quit because she dislikes tests, but Lala convinces her to wait, revealing that if she can pass her first exam she will get her own fairy. Doremi perks up and takes off for school after noticing the time. She spots Hazuki and they begin to chat. However, their conversation soon dwindles down to comparing each others living arrangements, and Doremi believes Hazuki is very lucky not having to deal with the same problems she has- but this accidentally offends her. Hazuki runs off leaving her to wonder what happened, and upon arrival at school she becomes so distracted that she bumps into Yuki-sensei. She asks for her advice and decides to wait until break to speak with Hazuki again. She apologizes for what she may have said and they reconcile. But when Hazuki remarks that she wishes she could live Doremi's life instead of her own, Doremi becomes inspired. She asks Hazuki to wait a moment and finds a safe spot to transform. She returns proclaiming herself as a "witch who knows Doremi" who has come to grant their wish. Hazuki is startled as Doremi casts a spell on her, and to her surprise she now looks like Doremi. Doremi vanishes, returning now resembling Hazuki. The girls are thrilled and they head for home while discussing the important details they should know in order to avoid acting unusual. Hazuki reaches the Harukaze household and steps inside to find Pop making origami. She requests joining, but accidentally offends Pop because of her insistence on calling her "Pop-chan". Pop's aggravation quickly turns to alarm after Hazuki is able to fold a perfect crane. Her hysterics attract their mother to the room, and she too is awestruck, Doremi always bends her origami and it never looks this nice. At this point, Hazuki begins to worry she isn't very convincing, but with no other choice she continues on. She helps with chores around the house -picking up dinner ingredients, answering the phone, etc- but this raises the Harukaze's suspicion. They decide to let it slide when they realize she has no ulterior motive for being so polite and helpful. Meanwhile, after being startled and forced into a frilly dress Doremi finds her patience wearing thin at the Fujiwara household. She is scolded for swearing after Hazuki's mom brings up the expensive place they will be eating at for dinner, and she attempts to tell Hazuki's mom how she feels about the outfit. But when she becomes upset, Doremi quickly tries to make an excuse to try to spare her feelings. Back at the Harukaze's, Pop and "Doremi" are watching television when Haruka asks them to get their father and inform him that it's time for dinner. Hazuki volunteers to do it and she finds him organizing his fishing lures. She admires them and curiously begins to ask about them, causing him to express joy as she never did this before. At Hazuki's, Doremi struggles to play the violin. Reiko and the instructor express concern over her inability to suddenly play. Haruka comes by to find "Doremi" and Keisuke and scolds him for being so distracted and nearly dragging their daughter into his hobby. They start arguing, much to Hazuki's distress, and as they eat dinner she helplessly attempts to figure out how they can suddenly be on such good terms, as if the argument never occurred. To cover up her lack of violin knowledge, Doremi quickly feigns illness. But Hazuki's family overreacts and before she knows what happened, she is thrown into Hazuki's bed. The Harukaze's react the same way when Hazuki refuses to touch the steak they made for dinner, which is Doremi's favorite food. Hazuki's father arrives while a doctor is checking on her and assures them she is fine. Her parents are confused, and "Hazuki" wonders if she could have imagined the illness. They express relief to know she is okay, but they insist that she stay in bed to rest just to make sure. While laying in Doremi's bed, Hazuki resumes thinking over how chaotic Doremi's family behaves. They tend to fight and argue a lot, but deep down she can see that they are caring people too. Meanwhile, Doremi thinks about how difficult Hazuki's life is, because she has to act so maturely. Some time passes and Hazuki awakens, just in time to realize she has transformed back to normal when she catches her reflection. She worries over Doremi after it dons on her that she's probably changed back as well, but as this is going on Majorika has gone out to track her down. Doremi transforms after her rude awakening and flies home, where she offers Hazuki a chance to recast the spell if she would like to remain being Doremi for a while. Hazuki stops her to tell her it isn't necessary, because she misses her own family. Doremi agrees and they recall how their day went while she gives Hazuki a ride back to the Fujiwara household. The next morning, Doremi rushes downstairs to dig into the steak Hazuki didn't eat, but she is dismayed after witnessing her family finishing it. They didn't consider that she would want it now, but seeing her cry relieves them to know she's returned to normal.244 views 1 comment
