The good world has become a hell on earth and the written word attributes this to chaos and evil that caused the punishment of the elemental gods, while the reality is the cyclical return of the Destroyer. The Pre-Adamites and Giants knew from experience that periodic catastrophes of water or fire would occur, heralded by celestial signs from the sun and comets entering the inner solar system, preceded or followed by destruction as they passed. The Pre-Adamites and Giants watched the sky, watching the surface of Mars rise into space, unaware that the atmosphere and waters, kilometers of surface, were being sucked into space by the approaching Destroyer.
