UMP Modifieds at Baxterville
roylee18**Full transpareny - it may not have been Expert difficulty. I had set the difficulty via the regular Options menu, but when I checked the Career Options menu for the next race, it was listed as Hard. That menu has also been changed now.** A National career race at Baxterville Speedway on Expert difficulty. After qualifying, there really isn't a bottom groove. If there is, I couldn't find it. The track is super slick for the bottom 2/3rds. The main groove seems to be entering on the high side, then coming off just below where the black ends. Keep the car from drifting to the wall, as it will have a tendency to slide out. There is plenty of room to navigate through traffic. Not a lot of bumping and banging here, but a bit more than I'd prefer. A little over driving here, but overall a good caution free race. Game is World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 241 view -
UMP Modifieds at Arrowwood
roylee18A National career race at Arrowwood Motor Speedway on Expert difficulty. This is a tri-oval track with progressive banking, high on the top of the corners with a flat low groove. At least for the line I run the track doesn't seem to slick off much at all. I hit a lap less than 0.1 seconds off from my record lap time in the feature. Running the high line in turns 1 and 2, then enter turns 3 and 4 at about the halfway point and drift up to the wall, then dive low and cut off the dog leg. There is plenty of room to navigate through traffic. Very good race with great traffic navigation. I barely I got into the back of Zeke McKenzie once. I do need to work on my slide job executions. I think bumping the AI up to Expert has really helped with traffic issues. There was 1 caution here with Kenny Wallace getting spun. Game is World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 241 view -
UMP Modifieds at Kern
roylee18A National career race at Kevin Harvick's Kern Raceway on Expert difficulty. Turns 1 and 2 can get a bit tight, and watch out for the wall as it turns in quick. Turns 3 and 4 are quite easy to navigate. The track is pretty smooth with a good sized berm on the bottom. As the night progresses it does get a little slick when on the black, but still has decent grip. Mostly clean race on a narrower track, just a couple bumps. I did have an incident where the car in front of me brake checked and I didn't react fast enough. Overall though, caution free race. Game is World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 244 views -
UMP Modifieds at Madison Lake
roylee18A National career race at Madison Lake Motorsport Park on Expert difficulty. As the night progresses the bottom groove fades away. The track is slick for the bottom 2/3rds, with lower grip. The fastest groove come feature time is right above the black. The track can be narrow to navigate through traffic, but if you plan them out you should have very little issues. Very clean race with nice traffic navigation. It was clean until I went to lap the 3rd and 4th place cars while also putting 2 other cars another lap down. The 2 slowest cars got together and really slowed down with no place for me to go. 1 caution at the very end as the 2nd place car spun while navigating traffic. UMP Modifieds at Weedsport
roylee18A National career race at Weedsport Speedway on Expert difficulty. Moderately clean race, with a little bit of bumping. The AI can be unpredictable in where they want to run. As the night progresses the middle of the track gets dry slick, it is either very bottom or the cushion. I find diving low in 1 and drifting to the top in 2, then running the very top in 3 and 4 fastest. Track surface is pretty smooth. Overall, mostly good navigation thru traffic on an oddly shaped track. I did run into the back of a couple cars as they check up in the middle of 1 and 2, where I usually don't, so timing that is a must. I did get ran into a couple times when trying to go low through traffic. There was 1 caution near the very end where I got into the back of Kyle Steffens as he checked up more than I had anticipated. I also turned my fastest lap here during the feature event. Might finally break into the 12's soon. Game is World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 242 views -
UMP Modifieds at Old Mill
roylee18A National career race at Old Mill Raceway on Expert difficulty. After qualifying, the track gets slick fast. Come feature time it is either very low line or very high line. The top line is very easy to go from traction to slide right into the wall. Track navigation is kinda a pain here. Not a favorite track of mine. Still can't come up with a setup for feature time that has any bite out of the corners. Far more bumping and banging here than I prefer. I did have Nicely decide to ram into my back, so I decided he deserved a good payback. A few laps later and I got into the back of Schrader and caused a caution. UMP Modifieds at Sugarbush
roylee18A National career race at Sugarbush Motor Speedway on Expert difficulty. Pretty clean race with plenty of room to move around. Momentum track, so keeping the car from sliding is a must. The surface is a little choppy, but not bad. I did get into the back of a couple cars. I had gotten into Lomax when he checked up on the exit of a corner, not sure why he checked up. The other incident is when Owens spun in turn 1, a lap car connected with him, then he all of a sudden drives away and dives low, right where I was. So I kinda messed with him for a lap. UMP Modifieds at Sheep Mountain
roylee18A National career race at Sheep Mountain Raceway on Expert difficulty. Pretty clean race on a nice tri-oval race track. The top line is not quite as fast, but certainly usable. The track surface is mostly smooth. Traction as the night goes on does drop, but not a lot. I did get into the back of McKinney and then he bumped me up into Wallace the next turn. 1 caution for Altobelli spinning in 3 after contact with Schrader. After the late race caution I started trying different driving styles to see if I was missing something but ended up reverting back to my line. Game is World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 241 view -
UMP Modifieds at Chili Bowl
roylee18A National career race at The Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals on Expert difficulty. At this tiny bullring, after qualifying the track gets slick fast in the middle. The slick isn't bad though. Come feature time it is either very low line or very high line. The bottom line is really easy to catch the berm, and the top line is very easy to bump the wall. If you get flat against the wall, it does not want to let you go in the corner. Traffic navigation is kinda a pain here. There is not a lot of room anywhere to get around cars. Not a favorite track of mine by far. Far more bumping and banging here than I prefer. At times if I passed a lap car, I'd catch them with the right rear corner just enough to try sending the car into the wall. The AI has no concept of "Don't race the leader." This race had 2 cautions. The first caution I may have caused attempting to go 3 wide, but didn't check the replay from an outside perspective. The 2nd caution I have no idea what happened. I think for future races at this track, I'll just hire a driver. Game is World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 242 views -
UMP Modifieds at Five Forks
roylee18A National career race at Five Forks Speedway on Expert difficulty. Finally a completely clean race. This tri-oval track has plenty of room to move around with a focus on momentum. The top line is not quite as fast, but certainly usable. The track surface is mostly smooth. Traction as the night goes on does drop, but not a lot. Even running in the black is pretty good. An uneventful feature lapping the entire field with great traffic navigation and no cautions. Game is World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 243 views 2 comments
