This was about an hour after plane landed in rio. Just went to one of the stands for the ride services (cootramo) inside the arrivals area, paid with visa card in advance, and was in maracana in about a half hour. i think the ride was about 95 reals. the closing ceremonies will be in maracana aug 21 and various soccer/futbol matches before then. of course the opening at maracana was aug 5. maracanazinho has volleyall and the Delamare Aquatics Center in the middle was initially scheduled to host preliminary water polo matches but they were moved to Lenke in Barra Olympic Park. The people were waiting in line for volleyball. The beach volleyball was at Copacabana. During Rio Olympics, walking down Copacabana

Day of touring several Rio de Janeiro landmarks during Olympics starts with walk from Copacabana to General Osorio metro station, to Largo do Machado metro station, catch van to Corcovado tourist area, van to summit. A little sightseeing during 2016 Olympics. Toward the end you can see the beautiful house that has been used in tv shows and music videos and can be toured but we didn't have time.

*Some of these videos might be clearer when viewed in full screen by clicking the square icon in the bottom right.* Across the street from Parque Lage, I think we took 511 bus directly to Sugarloaf (Pao de Acucar). Brazilian buses have a gate just inside the front door with a person (not the driver) who collects the fare and lets you on. The ticket office (ingressos) is just to the right of the cable car station. The gondola takes you to a first mountain (Urca 220 meters) first, then to Sugarloaf (396 meters). You can see people rock climbing up the sides, which is probably why they require you to show your ticket for the return gondola. From Sugarloaf, I went to pick up event tickets at Cosport at Praia de Botafogo, not far away. Check my channel for how to get there. As with my other Rio2016 videos, you can see lots of people looking up at the little Gopro Hero 4 session camera I am holding like they didn't know what it was. Yes, at around 8:24 the gondola stopped and swung back and forth for a minute. *Some of these events might be more visible if you click the "full screen" square icon in the bottom right.* To Barra Olympic Park, Swimming, To Rio Centro, Boxing Swimming is in the Olympics Aquatics Center, across from Future Arena, both temporary facilities which will be disassembled after the Olympics and used to make other structures. In Barra Olympic Park on the other side of the 3 Cariocas and Velodrome is another Aquatic Center, Lenke, that hosts diving, synchronized swimming, and water polo. Initially, another aquatics center in the Maracana complex called Delamare was supposed to host some preliminary polo matches but they were moved to Lenke. Another Aquatics Center in Deodoro is hosting the swimming portion of Pentathlon. -The Gopro Hero 4 Session I carry around only has two buttons and the only other way to control the camera is with Gopro studio via bluetooth on my phone, which i didn't have with me because I didn't have service in Brazil. Therefore, no zoom or monitor available. In the videos you can see lots of people staring at the Session not knowing what it was. It looks a little like one of those little cube cams but has a lot more features and is waterproof.

About 90 real cab ride from Copacabana to airport took about 35 minutes. My airline check-in counter wasn't open yet, so I checked-in online with my tablet over airport Wifi to get a boarding pass, went through security, and was at the gate waiting for my flight about 30mins after entering security. On the left in the beginning of the video is Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, a lagoon behind Copacabana that hosted the crew and canoe sprints. Just on the other side of the lagoon from us is Parque Lage and Botanical Gardens at the bottom of Redeemer. If you view the video in full screen by clicking the little square in the bottom right, you can see the Christ statue on the peak of Corcovado. The tunnel (Andre Reboucas) we go through next is under the mountain beside Redeemer just to the east. After the tunnel, there is a road that connects to the expressway that goes right to Galeao Airport. Right when the music stops we ride past the flags at the entrance to Galeao.
