Formed in 2004, the band consists of lead vocalist Chris "Motionless" Cerulli, guitarists Ryan Sitkowski and Ricky "Horror" Olson, drummer Vinny Mauro and bassist Justin Morrow. Cerulli is the only member of the original line-up that remains in the band. The group has stated that their band name derived from the Eighteen Visions song "Motionless and White". Motionless in White was signed to Fearless Records for their first three studio albums; their fourth album, Graveyard Shift, was released in May 2017 through Roadrunner Records. Their fifth album, Disguise, was released in June 2019, followed by their sixth album, Scoring the End of the World, in June 2022. For their first two shows at the Northeast Fair in Pittston, PA, the band was known as "One Way Ticket" and then as "When Breathing Stops" for the remainder of 2004. On New Year's Day of 2005, they settled on their current name. Chris Motionless and other members have noted bands such as Poison the Well, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, Johnny Cash, Depeche Mode, and other musical groups as their inspiration. In 2005, they released their self-distributed demo. Within the year after the release of their demo, new member Josh Balz was added as the band's keyboardist, Frank Polumbo took over on bass and new members, Michael Costanza and Thomas "TJ" Bell, were added to the band as the new guitarists, moving Chris Motionless solely to lead vocals. On September 9, the band released their cover of The Killers' "Somebody Told Me" on streaming music services. Both are the only constant members of the group so far. However, Gommans has never been part of the band's line-up ; he acts as executive producer . After the founding, the formation was supplemented with keyboardist Erik van Ittersum (also known from Kingfisher Sky ), drummer Eelco van der Meer (also known from Ex Libris ), lead guitarist Goof Veelen and rhythm guitarist Ted Wouters respectively. Initially, Phantom Elite was a project intended to perform studio works by HDK , a project of Gommans, live . The band name 'Phantom Elite' also comes from the lyrics of the song Eternal Journey by HDK. After a few rehearsals, the group also started composing their own material. During 2018, the group underwent further changes in their line-up. Initially, drummer Eelco van der Meer and lead guitarist Goof Veelen left the band; they were replaced by Joeri Warmerdam and Max van Esch respectively. Afterwards, bassist Siebe Sol also left the group; his role was taken over by Vincent de Bruin (also known from Chainsaw Disaster). In April, Phantom Elite's debut album Wasteland was released, which was named after the single of the same name. The album partly contains material by HDK , although these have been slightly modified. A European concert tour followed on the occasion of the release of the debut album , with performances mainly in England , France and Germany . The last concert of the Wasteland tour took place in De Bosuil in the Limburg city of Weert . In 2019, the band once again had to deal with line-up changes. Rhythm guitarist Ted Wouters, who apart from Gommans and La Torraca was the last remaining member of the formation since its formation in 2016, left Phantom Elite. Subsequently, bassist Vincent de Bruin left the group. However, De Bruin was replaced by his predecessor Siebe Sol , who returned to the band. With this four-piece line-up (consisting of La Torraca, Van Esch, Sijpkens and Warmerdam) the band started developing new material. In the fall of 2020, two singles were released : Diamonds And Dark and The Race , both of which are the work of the latter line-up. The singles were released by the Italian record label Frontiers Music . The band announced via Facebook that they were working on a new album, which would be called Titanium . In January 2021, the group released two more singles: Deliverance and Glass Crown . Both singles were accompanied by a music video . Since their formation in 1994, the group has had two name changes, being previously known as Sleep of Right and Ethereal, and they have recorded nine studio albums, two extended plays, two live albums, two compilation albums, one video album, and sixteen singles and music videos. Inspired by the combination of gothic imagery and music, the members have been known, musically, for composing mid-tempo songs consisting of prominent guitar lines and contrasting dual female/male vocal harmonies to help create a melodic, detached sound. Much of the band's recent material, however, sees a heavier and more down-tuned style, featuring a more distinct bass line and a higher mixing of the guitars within the songs. They have toured internationally and were nominated in 2006 for a MTV Europe Music Award. They won the 2012 Metal Female Voices Fest Award for the Best Album, the 2016 Metal Hammer Award for the Best International Band, and the 2018 Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best Live Act. Their first album “First Step To Hell” containing 11 songs was released in September of the same year with Lola van Lo as the singer and Greg Turini as the drummer, both former ELFERYA musicians as well. This album was recorded at the Chaos Studio and mixed by Izakar at the Full Metal Studio. The artwork was entrusted with Gustavo Sazes. In February 2019, CHAOSEUM joined SOUFLY in the USA for a tour of seven concerts on the east coast. Afterwards, back in Switzerland, the singer left the band which then asked CK Smile to join them. The song “First Step To Hell” was subsequently rerecorded. A limited-edition Live album was recorded at the band’s second concert with CK as a frontman. It was released under the name “Live In Hell – Les Docks Lausanne 2019”. In September of 2019, the band joined TARJA (Ex-NIGHTWISH) for a tour in Russia. It had a considerable success with Russian metal fans. Representing the Xvive brand, CHAOSEUM went to Los Angeles in order to perform at the Namm - the largest music trade show. There, the band also took the opportunity to play at the legendary Whisky a Go Go. A few weeks later, the foursome released a first single “Into My Split” from their next album. The album named “Second Life” was released on September 25th, 2020. It is recorded at both the Chaos Studio and the Conatus Studio. Gwen Kerjan from the Slab Sound Studio is in charge of the mix, and as always, Gustavo Sazestakes care of the artwork. CHAOSEUM is a Swiss Nu-metal / Metalcore band formed 2018 in Lausanne (Switzerland). Their first album “First Step To Hell” contains 11 songs and was released in September of the same year.
