No-Hit Speedrun: Crash Bandicoot 3 (54min 55s)
RRinstorThis is the time without the loading screens. To measure the time taken, I used 'LiveSplit' with 2 modules whose names I've forgotten. You should be able to find them easily on the internet by looking up 'Crash Bandicoot NST Load Removal' & 'Crash Bandicoot NST Autosplitter'. I originally wanted to do a mere deathless run, I wasn't even considering a no-hit run because I thought it would be too hard, but hey, I played it safe for the most part and here it is! It wasn't that hard after all; it didn't take me many attempts, only 2! Although I took some big risks that paid off - like in 'Tomb Wader' - I still ended up being slower than in my standard speedrun because of other spots, where I played it safe. Eventually, I'd like to do a no-hit run that's faster than my standard run. Playlist: https://rumble.com/playlists/JI87SY_kBB88 views -
No-Hit Speedrun: Donkey Kong Country 3 - World 1 (6min 03s)
RRinstorI start the timer upon pressing the button to enter the first world, and end it upon collecting the boss's coin. Fully satisfied with this run! I lost a tiny bit of time in only 2 or so places. In the first level, I know it's possible to go between the bird and the barrel at 00:30 without letting go of the run button and without grabbing the barrel (which stops your character in place for a bit). I know because I did it on my very first attempt, but after retrying and failing, I realized it's quite hard and decided not to bother with this strategy again, although it's the fastest one. It barely saves any time. I wonder if there's a way to not decelerate at 3:15. Maybe by doing a tiny jump over the enemy, or by jumping over the DK barrel. I initially completed my first no-hit run of world 1 in 6min and 52s and I was going to publish it but I was itching for a cleaner run. This is my seventh complete run, I saved 49s over my first run, I didn't think I would save nearly that much time! I was thinking 5 to 10 seconds, inexperienced that I was. Enjoy watching this smooth run! Playlist: https://rumble.com/playlists/WTSW3826QgU13 views -
No-Hit Speedrun: Donkey Kong Country 3 - World 2 (9min 18s)
RRinstorI start the timer upon pressing the button to enter the world, and end it upon collecting the patch dropped by the boss. Here, there's no execution that I'm unhappy with anymore! It took me 9 full completions without taking a hit, and probably more than a dozen if I include the runs where I did take damage but still opted to finish the run. I suspect there may be improvements on the route I took in some levels, at least the ones in the trees. But I didn't want to bother with it yet. Maybe someday I'll test different routes, but at least not in the foreseeable future. My first completed attempt took 10min 41s, that's quite a big improvement! I'm perfectly satisfied with it; at least for now, maybe someday I'll try to figure out a better route. Playlist: https://rumble.com/playlists/KEAqrprJPPg7 views -
No-Hit Speedrun: Donkey Kong Country 3 - World 3 (8min 59s)
RRinstorI start the timer upon pressing the button to enter the world, and end it upon collecting the ski dropped by the boss. Pretty fun to realize I was spot on with my estimation in the description section of a previous attempt at this world, when I said I would end up around the 9min mark once I achieve a clean run. I'm happy with this one! Minor hesitations in level 5 but I don't think I'll try to go for an even cleaner run of this world. Instead, I plan to move on to the next. No-Hit Speedrun: Donkey Kong Country 3 - World 4 (10min 46s)
RRinstorI start the timer upon pressing the button to enter the world, and end it upon collecting the ski dropped by the boss. Upon rewatching my previous run, done in 10min 49s, I couldn't help but want to erase the minor mistakes that made it in. So I redid a run, and here's the result! Enjoy this smooth one! No-Hit Speedrun: Donkey Kong Country 3 - World 5 (8min 59s)
RRinstorI start the timer upon pressing the button to enter the world, and end it upon collecting the coin dropped by the boss. After the hopelessness I felt regarding a smooth world 5 run (even though it was fairly unwarranted), completing this run almost makes me ecstatic! It has everything I was looking for: no costly miss against the boss and no gross mistake in the levels. Enjoy watching! Playlist: https://rumble.com/playlists/JI87SY_kBB86 views -
No-Hit Speedrun: Donkey Kong Country 3 - World 6 (15min 09s)
RRinstorI start the timer upon pressing the button to enter the world, and end it upon collecting the coin dropped by the boss. Although level 1 went pretty fast, I didn't practice the levels individually beforehand. I just had to do level 1 numerous times while trying to complete this no-hit run. That's why I was able to go through it as fast as I did, compared to the following levels. There's a ton of room for improvement in this world, probably the most of any run I've done yet! This world is much harder and longer than any of the previous ones. This is the biggest gap in difficulty from one world to the next yet. Playlist: https://rumble.com/playlists/JI87SY_kBB85 views -
No-Hit Speedrun: Donkey Kong Country 3 - World 7 (16min 19s)
RRinstorI start the timer upon pressing the button to enter the world, and end it upon collecting the coin dropped by the boss. Level 2 contains a ghost barrel that is just too fast for me most of the time. That's why I won't try to optimize this world. I may try to run each level individually, though.
