ABOUT THOMAS J. BERGERSEN Thomas Bergersen was born in a small town in Norway and has spent his whole life living and breathing music. He is a multi instrumentalist, proficient on piano, violin, trumpet and various other musical instruments. Thomas is best known for his work for his company Two Steps From Hell which he co-founded with his American partner Nick Phoenix. Several of his albums have reached platinum status and he has millions of followers world wide. Thomas Bergersen is self taught both in composition, orchestration, production and on the various instruments he plays. 'Memoria' was composed by Thomas J. Bergersen for his Humanity V album. “Memoria” was a song Thomas wrote about becoming the hero in the story of your own life. A life that will live on for generations to come, in the memories of your friends and family. Merethe Soltvedt provided the vocals for the song, which started off as a very simple piano melody but later turned into a complete symphonic metal track. I tried to incorporate more traditional instruments, like the acoustic guitar and Irish whistle to give it a sense of home and singularity. The contrast between the simple piano and guitar and the complete orchestra, choir and rock band creates dynamic depth, and paints a unique musical picture. Thomas Bergersen is a modern classical composer who is part owner of the cinematic score company Two Steps from Hell. He has released plenty of his own music through the years, though. Enigma is a German musical project founded in 1990 by Romanian-German musician and producer Michael Cretu. Cretu had released several solo records, collaborated with various artists, and produced albums for his then-wife, German pop singer Sandra, before he conceived the idea of a new-age, worldbeat project. ABOUT THIS VIDEO: Era is a new-age music project by French composer Eric Lévi. Some of the lyrics were written by Guy Protheroe in an imaginary language similar to Latin, but deliberately devoid of any exact meaning. Musically, the project blends Gregorian chants with modern elements and genres, especially rock, pop and electronic music. ABOUT THE MUSIC: This music derives from Mozart's unfinished Requiem in D minor. In early July of 1791, a stranger visited the Austrian composer, bearing a commission for a Requiem from an anonymous patron. At the time, Mozart was working tirelessly to complete two operas, The Magic Flute and La Clemenza di Tito. By the time he turned his attention to the Requiem the following September, his health was in terminal decline. He worked obsessively with the haunting premonition, “I fear that I am writing a Requiem for myself.” On 5 December 1791, the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart died at his home in Vienna, Austria at the age of 35. ABOUT THIS VIDEO: This song finds Enya musing on the cycle of the universe and how change affects everything. Her producer Nicky Ryan recalled: "It began when, after writing the melody line, Enya started humming a small part of the melody." The title refers to the sound of our early universe. Obviously, the sound is totally inaudible to the human ear, but scientists have now been able to compress their findings from the Planck Space Telescope, so that they can give us an audible rendering of the waves at the beginning of our universe, the result of which could be described as a constant humming sound.
