Meeting the Master is a song by American rock band Greta Van Fleet. It was released as the first single from their third album, Starcatcher. The song was written while the band was working on their third album, and was then recorded during the Starcatcher sessions in 2022. They debuted the song on March 24, 2023, during their "Dreams in Gold Tour", and the track was released to the public on April 7, 2023, on digital media. - Starcatcher is the third studio album by American rock band Greta Van Fleet. It was released on July 21, 2023, through Lava and Republic Records. According to drummer Danny Wagner, We had this idea that we wanted to tell these stories to build a universe. - During an interview in 2022, bassist Sam Kiszka stated that the album would go back to a more raw sound, being conceptually almost going back to their days in the garage. He also went on to say how the album will be an expansion of the band's sound. Furthermore, he stated how the band is 'bringing our heads back to that garage time' and making the album exciting, raw and energetic. Some accuse the band of using licks from 70's bands as a 'rip off' however the use of riffs that are similar, are more paying homage to rock royalty than trying to 'rip them off'. Even Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, whom people accuse them of 'stealing the sound' from, have recognized the bands talent and have said what they're doing is 'OK'. Robert Plant giving kudos to Greta Van Fleet

During an interview with Rolling Stone it was revealed that “Highway Tune” was the first song written by the band. The song features a blues-inspired guitar riff with vocals similar to that of Led Zeppelins singer, Robert Plant. Though the band is usually compared to the legendary rock band, they have denied that they’re trying to copy Led Zeppelin: "I didn’t know who fucking Led Zeppelin was until I was in high school." During the song’s first week it managed to hit #1 on mainstream rock radio. Lyrics: [Intro] Oh, mama!
