In Escape Room: The Sorcerer’s Curse, we’re captured by an evil sorcerer and locked inside his sanctum, forced to prove ourselves by escaping before time runs out. Others have tried. Others have failed. And this time? There’s a real countdown clock ticking the whole way. What follows is a true escape room gauntlet: cryptic math puzzles layered with symbols, Greek letters, Norse runes, summoning circles, hidden mechanisms, and moments where the hardest part isn’t solving a puzzle — it’s realizing what the puzzle even is. There are plenty of hindsight “oh COME ON” moments, a few stalls where I’m clearly missing something obvious, and a lot of frantic scanning as the timer keeps marching forward. I won’t spoil how close it gets or what it costs to make it out — but I will say this felt shockingly close to a real-life escape room. Stressful, immersive, occasionally humbling… and a whole lot of fun. If you love puzzles, pressure, and magical nonsense, this one’s worth watching — and it definitely convinced me I want to play more games like this.
