Nazi Collaborators--The Dutch Collaborator [Netherlands] UNCENSORED
andy5421On 10th of May 1940 Germany invaded Holland. Hitler's Blitzkreig or lightening war took neutral Holland completely by surprise. Anton Mussert, leader of the right wing national socialist movement, known as the N.S.B.,offered his support to the occupiers. They would play part in the extermination of 74% of Holland's Jewish population. One such victim was Rudi Oppenheimer.Rudi explains in his own words how he, his elder brother and his sister only just survived Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp. Upon the surrender of Germany, Mussert was arrested at the NSB office in The Hague on 7 May 1945. He was convicted of high treason on 28 November after a two-day trial, and was sentenced to death on 12 December. He appealed to Queen Wilhelmina for clemency. She refused. On 7 May 1946, exactly one year after his arrest and four days before his 52nd birthday, Mussert was executed by a firing squad on the Waalsdorpervlakte, a site near The Hague, where hundreds of Dutch citizens had been killed by the Nazi regime.22 views -
Nazi Collaborators--Chaim Rumkowski (?) UNCENSORED
andy5421Chaim Mordechaj Rumkowski (February 27, 1877 – August 28, 1944) was the head of the Jewish Council of Elders in the Łódź Ghetto appointed by Nazi Germany during the German occupation of Poland. Rumkowski accrued much power by transforming the ghetto into an industrial base manufacturing war supplies for the Wehrmacht in the mistaken belief that productivity was the key to Jewish survival beyond the Holocaust. The Germans liquidated the ghetto in 1944. All remaining prisoners were sent to death camps in the wake of military defeats on the Eastern Front. As the head of the Judenrat, Rumkowski is remembered for his speech Give Me Your Children, delivered at a time when the Germans demanded his compliance with the deportation of 20,000 children to Chełmno extermination camp.11 views 1 comment -
Nazi Collaborator: Pierre Leval [France] UNCENSORED
andy5421Pierre Laval served as Prime Minister of Vichy France during World War II, a period defined by his controversial collaboration with Nazi Germany. Initially a socialist and pacifist, Laval's political trajectory saw him grappling with the realities of France's defeat and occupation. His policies included negotiating and compromising with Hitler to manage French resources and labor, notably exchanging French prisoners of war for workers sent to Germany. However, his administration was also responsible for aiding in the persecution and deportation of foreign Jews and establishing the Milice, a pro-German paramilitary force. Laval's actions remain a deeply divisive topic in French history, culminating in his post-war trial and execution for treason.14 views -
