White Christmas (video Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Danny Kaye & Vera-Ellen) 4K UHD
SIGOPSWhite Christmas is a 1954 American musical film directed by Michael Curtiz and starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen. The film, produced and distributed by Paramount Pictures, is notable for being the first to be released in VistaVision, a widescreen process developed by Paramount that used twice the surface area of standard 35mm film. Filmed in Technicolor, it features songs by Irving Berlin, including a new version of the title song "White Christmas," which was first introduced by Crosby in the 1942 film Holiday Inn. The plot follows Broadway star Captain Bob Wallace and aspiring performer Private Phil Davis, who, after entertaining soldiers in Europe during World War II, become a famous song-and-dance team after the war. While performing in Florida, they meet the Haynes sisters, Betty and Judy, and are persuaded to spend Christmas at the failing Columbia Inn in Pine Tree, Vermont, where their former commanding general, Major General Thomas F. Waverly, is the nearly bankrupt owner. To save the inn, the group stages a large musical show, which ultimately attracts guests and brings snow to the town on Christmas Eve. ----- https://www.amazon.com/White-Christmas-Bing-Crosby/dp/B00004YNIX Christmas Playlist: https://rumble.com/playlists/OHvx0B68gPE Lyrics: [Verse 1: Bing Crosby & Choir] I'm dreaming of a white Christmas Just like the ones I used to know (Ooh) Where the treetops glisten and children listen To hear sleigh bells in the snow [Verse 2: Bing Crosby & Choir] I'm dreaming of a white Christmas With every Christmas card I write (Ooh) May your days be merry and bright And may all your Christmases be white [Verse 1: Choir] I'm dreaming of a white Christmas Just like the ones I used to know (Ooh) Where the treetops glisten and children listen To hear (To hear the sleigh bеlls in the snow) [Verse 2: Choir, Bing Crosby, Both] I'm dreaming of a white Christmas With еvery Christmas card I write (Mm) May your days be merry and bright And may all your Christmases be white (Mm) Mm-mm-mm (Mm)36 views -
Pretenders - 2000 Miles 4K UHD
SIGOPS2000 Miles is a song by the British rock band Pretenders. Written by lead vocalist Chrissie Hynde and produced by Chris Thomas, it was released on 18 November 1983 as the second single from their third studio album, Learning to Crawl (1984). It was most popular in the UK, where it peaked at No. 15 on the UK Singles Chart in December 1983. In the US, it was released as the B-side of both the 7-inch single and 12-inch single remix of the band's hit "Middle of the Road". Influenced by Otis Redding's "Thousand Miles Away",the song was written a year after the band's guitarist, James Honeyman-Scott, had died of a drug overdose in 1982. Hynde has noted that she thinks "the sense of distance in the lyrics" refers to Honeyman-Scott". Considered a Christmas song, it has been released on various Christmas compilation albums. SIGOPS Christmas Playlist: https://rumble.com/playlists/OHvx0B68gPE Lyrics: He's gone 2000 miles It's very far The snow is falling down Gets colder day by day I miss you The children will sing He'll be back at Christmastime In these frozen and silent nights Sometimes in a dream you appear Outside under the purple sky Diamonds in the snow sparkle Our hearts were singing It felt like Christmastime 2000 miles Is very far through the snow I'll think of you Wherever you go He's gone 2000 miles It's very far The snow is falling down Gets colder day by day I miss you I can hear people singing It must be Christmastime I hear people singing It must be Christmastime32 views 1 comment -
Eagles - Please Come Home For Christmas
SIGOPSIn 1978, the rock band Eagles covered and released the song as a holiday single. Their version peaked at number 18 on the US Billboard Hot 100, the first Christmas song to reach the Top 20 on that chart since Roy Orbison's "Pretty Paper" in 1963. This was the first Eagles song to feature Timothy B. Schmit on bass (having replaced founding member Randy Meisner the previous year). The lineup features Don Henley (drums/lead vocals), Glenn Frey (piano, backing vocals), Joe Walsh (guitar, backing vocals), Schmit (bass/backing vocals), and Don Felder (lead guitar). Originally released as a vinyl 7" single, it was re-released as a CD single in 1995, reaching number 15 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. This version includes the lyrics "bells will be ringing the sad, sad news" (that is, a Christmas alone) as opposed to Brown's original version which references the "glad, glad news" (that is, Christmas in general). Christmas Playlist: https://rumble.com/playlists/OHvx0B68gPE Lyrics: Bells will be ringing this sad sad news Oh what a Christmas to have the blues My baby's gone I have no friends To wish me greetings once again Choirs will be singing "Silent Night" Christmas carols by candlelight Please come home for Christmas Please come home for Christmas If not for Christmas by New Years night Friends and relations send salutations Sure as the stars shine above But this is Christmas yes Christmas my dear The time of year to be with the ones you love So won't you tell me you'll never more roam Christmas and new Years will find you home There'll be no more sorrow no grief and pain And I'll be happy, happy once again Oh there'll be no more sorrow, no grief and pain And I'll be happy, Christmas once again82 views 1 comment -
