Forget the crowded theme parks; this is authentic Florida, a place where nature reigns supreme and the gentle giants of the sea – manatees – come to warm their whiskered faces in the winter months. As a local, I can tell you there's a magical energy that surrounds Three Sisters, especially during manatee season. The best times for manatee viewing are during cold fronts and high tides. When the Gulf waters cool, these adorable sea cows flock to the constant 72-degree waters of the springs, creating a spectacle unlike any other.
