Straight to a Fox News exclusive, because the FBI is concluding that the man who attempted to assassinate President Trump during the 2024 rally this if Butler, Pennsylvania, acted alone. Give griff Chanley Painter joining us with the very latest. >> reporter: good morning. That determination coming after a huge global investigation that involved more than 1,000 interviews, and it found that 20-year-old Thomas Crooks acted alone in the July 2024 shooting of Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. A bullet piercing the upper part of Trump’s right ear, and the gunfire also claiming the life of firefighter corey comperatore, and gravely injuring two others in a very chaotic scene. Seconds later, Secret Service countersnipers fatally shot crooks. FBI leadership sat down with fox digital for an exclusive interview on this investigation. The deputy director saying, quote, we have reviewed this case over and over, looked into every nugget. We have spoken to families, the president. There is no cover-up here. There was no motive for it, no reason for it. Another senior FBI official adding this, quote: there is no foreign connection in this case. There is no individual that is outside U.S. borders or inside U.S. borders that had any role in directing him, inspiring him or assisting him in any way. And that includes foreign governments. Also during this interview FBI director Kash Patel said the president was satisfied with the investigation saying, quote, we fully briefed the president as a victim of the case, providing him with all the details of our investigation. And the president was satisfied with the results and where we left him. They also say there is a limited record of crooks making political statements and advocating for political violence in 0019 and in 020 – 2019 and in 2020. The case included the review of nearly after a million digital files overall, one of the largest mobilizations of FBI resources in history.
