Celebration With A Cigar
Gotcha29Original Bluegrass song Celebration With A Cigar. A song about when my best mate Matt's son was born. I got a bottle of fine port, two fat very old cigars (50 years old still wrapped). We drank the port and smoked the cigars to celebrate his sons birth.....it's a bloke thing. Tradition.6 views -
Dave and His Comb Song
Gotcha29Original song about Dave and his comb. I did my Gong Shows at the Stuart Arms Hotel when I first got to the Northern Territory. The Gong Show was an amateur talent contest and anyone could enter that had an act. Dave played his hair comb. He would put tinfoil around the comb and it sounded just like a harmonica and he would play the blues. He won the competition. I heard he died in a house fire many years ago down in Adelaide. The Vic Hotel Darwin Song
Gotcha29Original song about the quirky Vic Hotel in Darwin. A small two storey pub in Darwin's Smith St Mall it had a bar downstairs and a larger live music room upstairs with a balcony overlooking the Smith St Mall. The upstairs bar had a large rectangular piece of carpet that swung back and forth to cool the crowd beneath it. Regular live music bands would entertain upstairs. The pub is still there but the doors closed in 2014. The Vic Hotel is a Darwin legend. Gary Crockett Copyright©29 views -
Peter Killington Beat Legend Song
Gotcha29Original song about a great drummer I worked with in Darwin and also shared a house with him and others when I first got to Darwin. Peter was highly respected and a nice guy to boot. It was a pleasure to have known him. Sadly he passed some years ago but his legend lives on. Gary Crockett Copyright©139 views -
