Today we dipped our toes into the unsettling world of Servant of the Lake, a point-and-click horror puzzle demo set in the wonderfully strange Rusty Lake universe. Our role seems simple enough: become a servant, cook breakfast, and take care of Mr. Aldous — who appears to be extremely helpless and in need of constant assistance. But before any of those cozy little tasks can begin, there’s just one small thing to take care of first… A contract. And not just any contract — the kind that politely informs you that the Vanderboom family is not responsible for any harm done. Which is, historically speaking, never a good sign. From there, the demo gently eases us into its puzzles, letting the atmosphere do most of the heavy lifting. Everything feels quiet, deliberate, and just slightly off — the kind of experience where nothing outright threatens you… yet. It’s a short glimpse, but a very effective one — and it already has me wondering what kind of “service” this job is really going to require. Today we are checking out the demo for Gate Zero! In this game we are traveling from a dystopian future back through time to the Passover feast of ancient Israel in the year 33 A.D.
