MuzzleLoaderscomHere at Muzzle-Loaders.com, our customers often call with questions about traditional rifle kits. While they might look complicated at first glance, the process is easily accessible for most laymen. We've put together a step-by-step video series that will take you through the entire process, from taking inventory of your parts to the final assembly. -------------------- In Part 4, we carve/sand the stock to bring the wood flush with the brass. Then, we stain it. Bringing the wood of your stock flush with your brass using only sandpaper can be a time-consuming process. It's also the best way to be certain that you don't remove too much material. Once removed, the wood cannot be replaced, so caution is important. However, if you're a proficient woodworker and have the tools, you can greatly speed up the process by using an orbital sander, carving tools, or a wood rasp. Materials/Tools: -150-2500 grit sandpaper -Brush -Carving tools/Orbital sander/Wood rasp (Helpful, but unnecessary) -Preferred wood stain/finish -Small flathead screwdriver Each rifle kit is unique, and some things that aren't issues on our kit may be issues on yours.
