Thruppence and sixpence every day Just to drive to my baby Thruppence and sixpence each day Because I drive my baby every way Magic Bus, Magic Bus, Magic Bus I said, now I've got my Magic Bus (Too much, Magic Bus) I said, now I've got my Magic Bus (Too much, Magic Bus) I drive my baby every way (Too much, Magic Bus) Each time I go a different way (Too much, Magic Bus) I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it [Outro] Every day you'll see the dust (Too much, Magic Bus) As I drive my baby in my Magic Bus (Too much, Magic Bus) See rock shows near Cleveland Heights Get tickets as low as $153 You might also like My Generation (Live At the BBC 1965) The Who Won’t Get Fooled Again (Live at the Capital Centre, Largo, 6th December 1973) The Who17 views -
Al Stewart - Year Of The Cat
SIGOPSYear of the Cat is a song by Scottish singer-songwriter Al Stewart, released as a single in July 1976 in the UK (October 1976 in the US). The song is the title track of his 1976 album Year of the Cat, and was recorded at Abbey Road Studios, London, in January 1976 by engineer Alan Parsons. The song peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the consecutive weeks of March 5 and 12, 1977. Although Stewart's highest placed single on that chart was 1978's "Time Passages", Year of the Cat has remained Stewart's signature recording, receiving regular airplay on both classic rock and folk rock stations. Lyrics: [Instrumental Intro] [Verse 1] On a morning from a Bogart movie In a country where they turn back time You go strolling through the crowd like Peter Lorre Contemplating a crime She comes out of the sun in a silk dress running Like a watercolour in the rain Don't bother asking for explanations She'll just tell you that she came [Refrain] In the year of the cat [Verse 2] She doesn't give you time for questions As she locks up your arm in hers And you follow till your sense of which direction Completely disappears By the blue tiled walls near the market stalls There's a hidden door she leads you to These days, she says, "I feel my life!" Just like a river running through [Refrain] The year of the cat [Verse 3] Well, she looks at you so coolly And her eyes shine like the moon in the sea She comes in Incense and Patchouli So, you take her to find what's waiting inside [Refrain] The year of the cat [Instrumental Break] [Verse 4] Well, morning comes and you're still with her And the bus and the tourists are gone And you've thrown away your choice and lost your ticket So, you have to stay on But, the drum beat strains of the night remain In the rhythm of the new-born day You know sometime you're bound to leave her But, for now you're going to stay [Refrain] In the year of the cat Mm, year of the cat [Instrumental Outro]32 views 3 comments -

Electric Light Orchestra - Telephone Line
SIGOPSTelephone Line is a song by the English rock band Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), released in May 1977 as part of their 1976 album A New World Record. It became one of ELO's most successful singles, topping the charts in Canada and New Zealand, and entering the top 10 in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia. The song peaked at number 8 in the UK and number 7 on the US Billboard Hot 100, where it remained for 23 weeks, the longest stay of any ELO song on that chart. It was ranked as the No. 15 song of 1977 by Billboard. The lyrics depict a man on a telephone, waiting for his lover to answer, expressing his loneliness and longing as he imagines what he would say if she picked up. The song opens with a distinctive American telephone ring, which frontman Jeff Lynne recreated by recording the sound from a call made from England to an unoccupied number in the US and then replicating it on a Moog synthesizer. This effect, combined with the song’s orchestral arrangements and doo-wop-inspired vocal bridge, gives it a nostalgic, emotional quality. Lyrics: [Verse 1] Hello, how are you? Have you been alright Through all those lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely nights? That's what I'd say I'd tell you everything If you'd pick up that telephone Yeah, yeah, yeah [Verse 2] Hey, how you feelin'? Are you still the same? Don't you realise the things we did, we did Were all for real, not a dream? I just can't believe They've all faded out of view Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Ooh-ooh [Pre-Chorus] Doo-wop, doo-be-doo-doo-wop, doo-wah, doo-lang Blue days, black nights, doo-wah, doo-lang I look into the sky (The love you need ain't gonna see you through) And I wonder why (The little things you planned ain't coming true) [Chorus] Oh, oh, telephone line, give me some time I'm living in twilight Oh, oh, telephone line, give me some time I'm living in twilight [Verse 3] Okay, so no one's answering Well, can't you just let it ring a little longer, longer, longer? Oh I'll just sit tight Through shadows of the night Let it ring forevermore, oh Yeah, yeah, yeah [Pre-Chorus] Doo-wop, doo-be-doo-doo-wop, doo-wah, doo-lang Blue days, black nights, doo-wah, doo-lang I look into the sky (The love you need ain't gonna see you through) And I wonder why (The little things you planned ain't coming true) [Chorus] Oh, oh, telephone line, give me some time I'm living in twilight Oh, oh, telephone line, give me some time I'm living in twilight Oh, oh, telephone line, give me some time I'm living in twilight Oh, oh, telephone line, give me some time I'm living in twilight88 views 2 comments -

Pure Prairie League - Too Many Heartaches In Paradise
SIGOPSToo Many Heartaches In Paradise, is a song from the Pure Prairie League album Firin'Up, their eighth studio album, released in 1980. It is the third song on the album. The song was written by George D. Greer & Jeff Wilson (Guitarist). The song is about a girl that was a daddy's girl with a beautiful smile that had a restless spirit that you would fall in love with but end up with a broken heart. In the song, she leaves home and experiences the world and finds too many heartaches in what she thought was paradise and eventually returns back home. A kind of a "Grass Is Greener" lesson of life. Lyrics: She was her daddy's girl with her momma's smile A country boy's dream she was a loveless child She had a restless heart for the city lights She left her country days for the city nights There's just too many heartaches in paradise There's just too much to pay... too high a price You can spend all your love and never think twice There's just too many heartaches in paradise She loved those daydreams... the sunsets The endless wine... the french cigarettes And then she fell in love with a rich man's life He used her up like his merchandise There's just too many heartaches in paradise There's just too much to pay... too high a price You can spend all your love and never think twice There's just too many heartaches in paradise Like a fallen star in the night Another broken heart fades out of sight She's goin' back home There's just too many heartaches in paradise There's just too much to pay... too high a price You can spend all your love and never think twice There's just too many heartaches Too many heartaches There's just too many heartaches In paradise102 views 1 comment
