White Christmas (video Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Danny Kaye & Vera-Ellen) 4K UHD
SIGOPSWhite Christmas is a 1954 American musical film directed by Michael Curtiz and starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen. The film, produced and distributed by Paramount Pictures, is notable for being the first to be released in VistaVision, a widescreen process developed by Paramount that used twice the surface area of standard 35mm film. Filmed in Technicolor, it features songs by Irving Berlin, including a new version of the title song "White Christmas," which was first introduced by Crosby in the 1942 film Holiday Inn. The plot follows Broadway star Captain Bob Wallace and aspiring performer Private Phil Davis, who, after entertaining soldiers in Europe during World War II, become a famous song-and-dance team after the war. While performing in Florida, they meet the Haynes sisters, Betty and Judy, and are persuaded to spend Christmas at the failing Columbia Inn in Pine Tree, Vermont, where their former commanding general, Major General Thomas F. Waverly, is the nearly bankrupt owner. To save the inn, the group stages a large musical show, which ultimately attracts guests and brings snow to the town on Christmas Eve. ----- https://www.amazon.com/White-Christmas-Bing-Crosby/dp/B00004YNIX Christmas Playlist: https://rumble.com/playlists/OHvx0B68gPE Lyrics: [Verse 1: Bing Crosby & Choir] I'm dreaming of a white Christmas Just like the ones I used to know (Ooh) Where the treetops glisten and children listen To hear sleigh bells in the snow [Verse 2: Bing Crosby & Choir] I'm dreaming of a white Christmas With every Christmas card I write (Ooh) May your days be merry and bright And may all your Christmases be white [Verse 1: Choir] I'm dreaming of a white Christmas Just like the ones I used to know (Ooh) Where the treetops glisten and children listen To hear (To hear the sleigh bеlls in the snow) [Verse 2: Choir, Bing Crosby, Both] I'm dreaming of a white Christmas With еvery Christmas card I write (Mm) May your days be merry and bright And may all your Christmases be white (Mm) Mm-mm-mm (Mm)36 views -
Pretenders - 2000 Miles 4K UHD
SIGOPS2000 Miles is a song by the British rock band Pretenders. Written by lead vocalist Chrissie Hynde and produced by Chris Thomas, it was released on 18 November 1983 as the second single from their third studio album, Learning to Crawl (1984). It was most popular in the UK, where it peaked at No. 15 on the UK Singles Chart in December 1983. In the US, it was released as the B-side of both the 7-inch single and 12-inch single remix of the band's hit "Middle of the Road". Influenced by Otis Redding's "Thousand Miles Away",the song was written a year after the band's guitarist, James Honeyman-Scott, had died of a drug overdose in 1982. Hynde has noted that she thinks "the sense of distance in the lyrics" refers to Honeyman-Scott". Considered a Christmas song, it has been released on various Christmas compilation albums. SIGOPS Christmas Playlist: https://rumble.com/playlists/OHvx0B68gPE Lyrics: He's gone 2000 miles It's very far The snow is falling down Gets colder day by day I miss you The children will sing He'll be back at Christmastime In these frozen and silent nights Sometimes in a dream you appear Outside under the purple sky Diamonds in the snow sparkle Our hearts were singing It felt like Christmastime 2000 miles Is very far through the snow I'll think of you Wherever you go He's gone 2000 miles It's very far The snow is falling down Gets colder day by day I miss you I can hear people singing It must be Christmastime I hear people singing It must be Christmastime32 views 1 comment -

Pretenders - Middle Of The Road
SIGOPSMiddle of the Road is a song by the Pretenders, released as the third single from their 1983 album Learning to Crawl. It was written by lead singer Chrissie Hynde, who has described the song as reflecting her personal philosophy of staying in the "middle" or "middle way," inspired by her interpretation of the Tao Te Ching. The song's lyrics also contain autobiographical elements, referencing the recent deaths of bandmates Pete Farndon and James Honeyman-Scott, as well as the birth of her daughter Natalie in February 1983. Hynde has stated that she was 32 at the time of the song's release, though the lyric "I got a kid, I'm thirty-three" reflects her age at the time of recording. Lyrics: Middle of the road is trying to find me I'm standing in the middle of life with my plans behind me But I got a smile for everyone I meet Long as you don't try dragging my bay Or dropping the bomb on my street Oh, come on, baby Get in the road Come on now In the middle of the road, yeah In the middle of the road, you see the darnedest things Like fat cats driving 'round in jeeps through the city Wearing big diamond rings and silk suits Past corrugated tin shacks full up with kids And man, I don't mean a Hampstead nursery But when you own a big chunk of the bloody Third World The babies just come with the scenery Now come on, baby Get in the road Come on now In the middle of the road, yeah One Two Three Four Five Six The middle of the road is no private cul-de-sac I can't get from the cab to the curb Without some little jerk on my back Don't harass me, can't you tell I'm going home, I'm tired as hell I'm not the cat I used to be I've got a kid, I'm thirty-three, baby Get in the road Come on now In the middle of the road, yeah84 views 2 comments -

Willie Nelson - Funny How Time Slips Away
SIGOPSNelson wrote this in 1961 for Patsy Cline, one of only a few big names in Nashville at the time who understood him. Nelson was eventually rejected by the Nashville labels as too offbeat, too artsy-fartsy for mainstream country music. Nelson said of his early experience in Nashville: “I enjoyed fooling around with phrasing, but it made my sound noncommercial for all those Nashville ears who were listening for the same old stuff and misunderstood anything original.” Billy Walker (a star at the Grand Ole Opry at the time) actually snapped this song up and was the first to record it. Even though Nelson showed early promise with this song, and “Crazy”, recorded by Patsy Cline, he couldn’t get a Nashville recording contract that allowed him to do what he wanted with his music. He eventually returned to Texas, started over, and did it his own way. The song became a live staple of Nelson’s and a classic standard, used by stars like, George Jones Elvis Presley, Kris Kristofferson, Tom Jones, Al Green & Tina Turner. Lyrics: [Verse 1] Well, hello there My, it's been a long, long time How am I doing? Oh, I guess that I'm doing fine It's been so long now But it seems now that it was only yesterday Gee, ain't it funny How time slips away? [Verse 2] How's your new love? I hope that he's doing fine I heard you told him That you'd love him 'til the end of time Now that's the same thing that you told me Seems like just the other day Gee, ain't it funny How time slips away? [Verse 3] I gotta go now I guess I'll see you around Don't know when though Never know when I'll be back in town But remember what I tell you In time, you're gonna pay And it's surprising how time slips away65 views 1 comment
