Randall Carlson

This was a very important time.. right after the eruption a crew went up on the Mountain and shot a film of what it looked like from Boots on the Ground. The Crew processed the Film at Alpha Cine Labs in Seattle, WA. I was working there and met crazy Otto and his lady friend Valarie when they brought all the footage in then edited it on 16mm editing facilities in the Suite downstairs. It was monumental and beyond an educational experience for Volcanologists and Geologist that wanted to see it up close and personal. Skeets McGrew was a friend who went on to work on many productions and Bruce Walters was the Production Manager at Alpha Cine who was the best part of working there. Bill Scott went on to work with Industrial Light and Magic for Steven Spielberg. And I went into Film Production in Seattle for the next 20 years working on over 500 commercial campaigns and many films that were shot there. It was a great place to be in Seattle back then and we were a tight community. Many fond memories.

PART ONE explains how Randall feels in his published works that kids should be raised in "natural" surroundings. I feel this is a very important part of what is the upside and downside of the way that "SCIENCE" becomes "BIBLICAL" .
