How to turn off sounds & End of Cycle Signal on Washer & Dryer-Date: 6/23/2021
Washer & Dryer HowToIn this video I show you how to turn off on the sound the washer and dryer make when you turn it on, select cycles and options and turn off the end of cycle signal. When you turn this option off, it won't chime to let you know. If you turn it on again, it will chime once. You can turn the "Signal" on again by repeating the same procedure. The only difference is it will chime once to indicate the sounds are back on again. On my washer, the option to turn off all the sounds shares the button with the "Cold Wash" option as an extra option labeled "*Signal". Extra options are indicated by "*" the extra option. To activate the extra options, you have to hold that button for at least 3 seconds. Just to let you know, my pedestal washer doesn't have a way to turn off the sounds. I apologize if the video goes a little out of focus at times. Disclaimer: This video is for demonstration purposes only. I assume no responsibility for any damage caused or malfunctions that occur. Please refer to your owners manual for your make and model for the proper operation of your machines.2 views -
What does "UE" Mean on a Front Load Washer?-Date: 7/4/2021
Washer & Dryer HowToIn this video I tell what it means and what to do if you see "UE" on your washer display. "UE" stands for "Uneven" load. This means the washer wasn't able to find the proper balance for it to achieve a full spin and continued to be out of balance. This usually occurs during the final spin but can happen during any spin. If after a period of time the washer can't achieve a balanced load (No, I don't know how long it takes before this happens) during a spin cycle, the washer will stop until you try to fix the unbalanced load. My suggestion to figure out how the load is unbalanced is to cancel the UE by pushing the play/pause button and starting the spin cycle again and wait for it to try and spin up and take note to where and how it is unbalanced. This will give you an idea of where it is too heavy. Then you can redistribute the heavy items in that area around to other parts of the drum to try and balance the load. Then restart the spin cycle and stay with and watch it until it spins itself up. You can let the washer try to balance the load itself in between attempts. You might have to repeat this process several times to achieve the proper balance. You can often solve the problem by observing how the drum moves and behaves when it's out of balance. I'm guessing with most newer washers including top load washers possibly do this. Please refer to your owners manual for how your washer deals with an uneven/out of balance load. To those who celebrate it, Happy Independence Day/4th. of July. -
What Does "PF" Mean?-Date: 4/7/2021
Washer & Dryer HowToIn this video I tell you what "PF" stands for and how to resolve it if it occurs. If you see "PF" in the display, it stands for "Power Failure." These letters will be in your display if your washer lost power for some reason such as if your electric service fails or if the power cord falls out or maybe the circuit breaker tripped or the fuse blew. To resolve it after the power is restored, just press the play/pause button once and the washer should pick up where it left off because the washer retains it's memory for a period of time after the power goes off (I don't know how long that is though.) I don't know how long the washer will retain it's memory after the power is cut off. But I think the washer would drain itself out and start the wash cycle over again and you would have to put your soap and products back in and run the cycle again. If you hear the washer start to drain after a the power failed, the washer was most likely without power for an extended period of time and forgot where it was. But it should retain the memory that there was a power loss. Please refer to your owners manual on how your machines behave after a power failure and what to do after the power is restored. I hope everyone had a great Independence Day/4th. of July. -
How to Activate & Deactivate the Control Lock on Your Washer & Dryer-Date: 6/23/2021
Washer & Dryer HowToIn this video I show you how to activate and deactivate the control lock. This lock is also often called the "Child Lock." On my particular machines, this lock is an extra option shared by another function/option. In this case it is shared with the Rinse & Spin option. To activate and/or deactivate the control lock, hold the button for at least 3 seconds until you hear the chime, (You might not hear the chime if you have the signal sound turned off.) If your machines are a different brand, read your owners manual to learn how to activate and deactivate the lock on your particular machine. If you don't have your owners manual, you should be able to find a copy on your manufactures website. All 3 of my machines including my washer, pedestal washer and my dryer all have the control/child lock on them Disclaimer: This video is meant for demonstration purposes only. I assume no responsibility for any damage or malfunction of your machines.1 view -
Delicates Cycle: In Real Time-Date: 6/23/2021
Washer & Dryer HowToThis video shoes you how the "Delicates" cycle works in real time. As you can see in the video during the wash cycle, the times between rolls are shorter, and it has a back and forth movement during the main wash cycle. It also has a shorter wash cycle and a 4 minute final spin. It doesn't spin between the wash cycles. It only has a final spin and you can't use the high speed spin. The default water temperature is one light above tap cold. You can use the "Cold Wash" option if you want to. If you find your stuff is still too wet after the final spin because it is a very short spin on medium or low speed, you can use the "Spin Only" option (if your machine has this option) to spin it out again. I suggest using the medium or low speed spin again as the item may not be able to withstand the high speed spin. If you don't know how to activate the "Spin Only" option, I also have a video on how to do this or refer to your owners manual on how to activate the option for your washer. Disclaimer: This video is for demonstration purposes to show you how the washer functions during the Delicates cycle. I assume no responsibility for any damage to your washer or clothing in the event something gets damaged.4 views -
About the Bleach Dispenser in Front Load Washers-Date: 5/30/2021
Washer & Dryer HowToThis video is just to tell you about the bleach dispenser and how it works. My LG washer only dispenses the bleach in the last 5-10 minutes of the main wash cycle. In order for me to be able to get the laundry to be bleached for the entire main cycle, I have to add the bleach directly to the drum. I do this before I put the clothes in so I don't cause any damage to my clothing. Damage could occur if you pour the bleach directly on your clothing, especially colored clothing. If you forget to add the bleach tom the drum, you could add it by pouring it in those little drain holes at the bottom of the door. I hope this helps you to understand the bleach dispenser a bit better. Disclaimer: This video is meant to tell you about the bleach dispenser and the various ways to be able to use bleach in your washer. I am not responsible for any damage adding the bleach may cause. Please refer to your owners manual to find out how your specific washing machine dispenses the bleach.4 views -
Using the Permanent Press Cycle (Perm. Press)-Date: 1/23/2021
Washer & Dryer HowToIn this video I show you the Permanent Press cycle ("Perm. Press" is what is actually next to the selector knob) in real time. I don't know much about this cycle or why washers have it. But since it does, I wanted to make a video with this small load so you can see how it runs. I only used this cycle one other time just to see how it worked and ended up with half of the laundry unwashed because some of it was still dry causing me to have to run it again. This load was small enough for it to wash OK. In my opinion the Normal and Heavy Duty wash cycles are basically the same with the exception that it is a shorter cycle. I know some clothing and other items tell you to wash those on this cycle. But I don't know what the benefit is. Maybe someone can tell us what this cycle is meant for down in the comments section. Disclaimer: This video is meant for demonstration purposes. Always read your owners manual and follow the recommendations on the garments your washing. I assume no responsibility if you break you washer our ruin your clothing.2 views -
Using the Rinse & Spin Option-Date: 12/25/2020 Christmas Day
Washer & Dryer HowToIn this video I show you the "Rinse & Spin" option in real time. This cycle takes approximately 25 minutes. In this instance I used it on the stuff I washed on the Speed Wash cycle because I accidentally used just a little bit to much soap for that cycle and the stuff was still a little bit soapy. So it gave me the opportunity to show you how this option works. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!🎄🎄🎁🎁 Disclaimer: This video is only for demonstration purposes.2 views -
Speed Wash Cycle - Default Setting-Date: 12/25/2020 Christmas Day
KrazyK3210In this video I show you how the "Speed Wash" cycle works in real time. This cycle takes approximately 15 minutes on the light soil setting. I made this video right after my video where I cleared the driveway of snow. I did a quick wash of the stuff I was wearing after I cleaned the snow off of my driveway. I do this so I can remove the sweat from the clothing I was wearing. The "Speed Wash" cycle is also good if you just want to freshen something up or if you have something you want to wear that is already in the wash. After it's finished, just use the speed dry cycle on your dryer if it has one. The speed wash cycle is the shortest wash cycle on the washer. But I don't recommend using this cycle for normal loads of laundry as the wash and rinse is really short and not nearly long enough for full loads of laundry. It won't fully wash a full drum of clothing properly. The "Speed Wash" setting is only meant for 3-4 pieces of lightly soiled clothing on the light soil setting. Even on the heavy soil setting, the run time is only approximately 25 minutes. You might be able to get away with doing maybe 10-12 items on the heavy soil setting. One Note: The washer doesn't spin after the main wash cycle. It only spins after the final rinse. Merry Christmas Everyone and Happy New Year!🎄🎄🎁🎁1 view
