This is the first large-scale, population-based cohort study to formally examine potential links between COVID-19 vaccination and cancer hospitalizations, motivated by anecdotal reports but building on no prior formal assessments.Key findings include:All-cause mortality: Vaccinated individuals showed a substantial reduction in overall death risk (adjusted hazard ratio [HR] ≈ 0.6–0.7 compared to unvaccinated), consistent with vaccines' protective effects against severe COVID-19. . Cancer hospitalizations: Among those with at least one dose, there was a 23% higher risk (HR 1.23) within 180 days of vaccination compared to unvaccinated individuals. Specific increases were:Colorectal cancer: 34% higher (HR 1.34) Breast cancer: 54% higher (HR 1.54) Bladder cancer: 62% higher (HR 1.62) . These risks were statistically significant only in subgroups without prior SARS-CoV-2 infection and reversed (lower risk for vaccinated) when analyzing events ≥12 months post-vaccination.
