Eternal Security discussion

David is a conditionalist who questioned Corey's understanding of scripture. Kevin and I will be reviewing this and siding with Corey mostly on that topic, but also disagreeing with him because he also teaches Calvinism in this video.

"ου μη" in Biblical Greek is called the "Emphatic negation" and is considered by Greek scholars to be the strongest way to say "no", "definitely not". There are 94 occurrences in the New Testament, so we might not get through all of them today.

Ongoing discussion with conditionalist David Cheevers. He believes that you need to keep believing to keep eternal life and get it at the end. I disagree.

Jason Breda streams as "Good Berean" on YouTube and recently revealed himself as a conditionalist. He has been posting against Calvinism for about two years (and I agree with him) but has now apparently over-reacted against eternal security and ignored all the Biblical evidence for it, and swallowed without much thought the claims of conditionalism. We will be looking at occurrence of this word and how it proves that Jesus is God. This will get into the Greek but I'll do my best to keep it understandable for everyone. Dave believes that you have to keep believing to be guaranteed eternal life whereas I believe Eternal Life is given as a gift that cannot be lost from the first moment of belief.

Jesus is the English name for Ιησους which comes from the Hebrew word Yeshua (ישׁוּעה) which means "salvation" and "YHWH (Jehovah) saves". There are some people in the OT called "Yeshua", but the word is usually translated "salvation". We're going to do a study of those instances.
