On August 21st, the infamous Lawrence Massacre also known as Qauntrill's Raid occurs in which Quantrill and his raiders kill around 150 unarmed men and boys in the city of Lawrence, Kansas in retaliation of the town's longstanding stance on supporting abolition.

The the Battle Of Cane Hill on November 28th, 1862, Union and Confederate forces clash as the Union seeks to keep the Rebels out of Missouri.
