Cowboy skills

Here's another homework assignment from school. We were supposed to do an interview with somebody who dayworks. So I picked my good buddy Andy. Andy started out cowboying from nothing (as you'll learn in the video). But he had the passion, drive, and determination (along with being blessed with some amazing mentors), to make to where he is today. And his insights / experiences were perfect for what my channel's geared towards: the newbie. The biggest take away I'd really like guys to get from this interview, is that, the path may seem insurmountable, with the skill requirements, experience, gear, and other things. But like Andy's story, if he can do it, so can you!

In this video I go over the bowline knot. This knot is not only useful for horsemen, but also anyone wanting to work on a ranch; and it has many applications. I plan on doing some more knot videos in the future (probably not as long as this video, lol)

This video is the phase 2 part of the class covering the foundation for more advanced roping, horsemanship, and stockmanship skills that we'll practice in later classes. Back in the day somebody bought me a nice 60' poly rope. Unfortunately it was to long for me to manage. And I was stuck with the problem of how to shorten it. In this video I go over how to trim a ranch rope, if you ever find yourself in need of doing so.
