RUSH TRANSCRIPT: WELKER: “You want to raise $9 billion in new taxes, increasing taxes on the wealthy, on businesses in order to fund your key policies like universal child care which you mentioned. You would need governor Kathy Hochul to be onboard with this. You need her signature. She has never publicly committed to increasing taxes. I know you just spoke with her. Mr. Mayor elect, did governor hochul commit to you that she will support and sign on to your plan to increase taxes.” MAMDANI: “The governor and I had a productive conversation and what we both committed to is to work together and one thing that I appreciate to many with governor hochul is she’s focused on universal child care for quite some time and now is a time to bring a partner forward in city hall, and I’ve said plainly and openly that I believe these are two tax proposals that make sense and New Yorkers making a million or more by 2% and increasing the top corporate tax rate to that of New Jersey and what I’ve also said is more important that we fund something and if there are additional and alternate revenue streams to do so and I will accept them and celebrate them and the most important thing is New Yorkers can’t conceive of having a family in New York City because of how expensive it is.”

RUSH TRANSCRIPT: WITT: “You, Peter, about that, because it was it was really eyebrow raising, right. He gets asked during the meeting if he still considers Trump a fascist, and the president goes and interrupts him on pause before answering to say, yeah, just say yes. I don’t mind, really. He doesn’t mind. Is it surprising to see him allow that kind of criticism?” BAKER: “Well, it demonstrates that some of this is all show, right? He loved the show and therefore being called a fascist. It’s all part of the game. It’s all part of the show. Remember, he’s the guy who said calling the fascist not that long ago was the kind of incitement to violence that should be, that should be cracked down on. Right? That calling him a fascist was an example of how the Democrats had become an extremist party promoting violence, and that his administration would now investigate left leaning organizations that he considered to be extremists. So, you know, it makes you wonder how serious he is when he says stuff like that, when he when he then plays around the way he did yesterday. But look, this isn’t surprising. This is the way he operates. You know, he’s done this time and time again. He did this with Megan’s old boss, right? Remember, after all the trashing of Joe Biden, he had, you know, he and Biden sat there in the White House after the election and they had a very convivial chat. He said nice things about Joe and another life. You and I would have been friends. And then, of course, as recently as just a few weeks ago said that Joe Biden should be in jail. And so, you know, he did that with Cuomo in the first term during the pandemic, trashed him, and then had the White House convivial, then again, trashed him again. So this is all show. It’s all interesting, but I don’t think it really changes the dynamics. This will still be a very fraught and tense relationship going forward, if history is any judge.”
