Experiences of Perception and the "Akashic records"

Dowsing or divining, is the practice by which dowsers are able to detect hidden or buried water, metals, gemstones, or other [crystalline] objects without the use of scientific apparatus. Dowsers today may use a pair of simple L-shaped metal rods or pendulums. The length of the pendulum chain is adjusted to find the 'frequency' of different substances. Perceptions act like a log of everything that happens to us. It is a little like a cine film, but with the addition of all our sensations - smell, taste, sights, sounds, touch and emotions. People who have near death experiences sometimes go through this log, and it is then called a "past life review". They feel as though they have lived their current life again. But there are some people - principally young children - who seem to be able to relive a life that wasn't theirs. Children are able to have these experiences up until the age of four or five. The past lives they remember are often those where the end of life has been unexpected, possibly violent and accompanied by trauma. If a small child has nightmares and terror from a ‘past life’ there is every reason to find ways of helping them resolve it. But deliberate attempts to find out past lives, from curiosity alone, when we are older may not be yielding the results we think. Rear Admiral Sir Francis Beaufort was an Irish explorer, hydrographer and officer in the Royal Navy, who dedicated his entire life to mapping the coasts and seas of our planet and improving the safety of those who travelled by sea. Beaufort was the creator of the Beaufort Scale for indicating wind force, and also promoted the development of reliable tide tables around British shores, inspiring similar research for Europe and North America. He was a council member of the Royal Society, the Royal Observatory, a founder of the Royal Geographic Society and a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society. So a man whose life was dedicated to science in its best sense, discovery that benefits his fellow man and saves lives. But he couldn't swim and had a profound experience when he nearly drowned. ============================ CREDITS BACKGROUND Sir John Barrow was appointed Second Secretary to the Admiralty by Viscount Melville, in 1804, a post which he held for forty years (apart from a short period in 1806–07 when there was a Whig government in power). In his position at the Admiralty, Barrow was a great promoter of Arctic voyages of discovery, including those of John Ross, William Edward Parry, James Clark Ross and John Franklin. The Barrow Strait in the Canadian Arctic as well as Point Barrow and the city of Barrow in Alaska are named after him. Barrow was a fellow of the Royal Society and received the degree of LL.D from the University of Edinburgh in 1821. A baronetcy was conferred on him by Sir Robert Peel in 1835. The input we get from our 5 senses is adapted by our Perception system, until we get a view suited to our environmental niche. As such we do not see Reality. We are unable to perceive the minute, unable to smell like a dog, see like a hawk, or hear like a rabbit. Not only do we never see Reality, the learning process can reduce things even further, when what we perceive does not appear to agree with our preconceptions of "the way the world is". But there are some people able to at least experience perceptions that have not been filtered or adapted to suit our preconceptions of what things should be like. And the irony is that they are rarely scientists, they are nearly always artistic and creative, which is tragic because as Schopenhaer said "The person rapt in this perception is thereby .... a pure, will-less, timeless subject of knowledge ...". All mammals, all birds, and many reptiles, amphibians, and fish sleep. Many dream – dogs for example, dream. There are two types of dream: • Ordinary dream – in which one only remembers the dream once you have woken up • Lucid dream – in which you become ‘conscious’ in the dream and are thus able to both direct and remember the dream And in this video we examine the ordinary dream. Ordinary dreams are used to help the body repair itself. This is achieved in deep sleep. Needless to say without this deep sleep the body has no chance of ever repairing itself, or of fighting disease. Ordinary sleep also enables the mind to reorganise itself. If these "mind management" tasks are not completed successfully you can end up dog tired, confused and mentally weary. During mind management our memory is reorganised, we learn from accumulated perceptions, old unused memories get "archived", and the data in memory gets reorganised and reindexed. But Rapid eye movement sleep, or REM sleep, accounts for 20–25% of total sleep time in most human adults. The right hemisphere becomes highly active during REM sleep. The Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson was better known by the pen name Lewis Carroll. Carroll is best known as the author of Alice in Wonderland and Alice through the Looking Glass, but he was also a brilliant mathematician and a greatly gifted formal logician. He became a mathematics lecturer and was expected, as a condition of his residency at Christ Church Oxford, to take holy orders. But he didn’t. He never took full orders. And the reason is that he became a mystic with a genius for documenting mystic symbolism in an accessible way. Carroll was shy, and cursed with an incurable stammer. But in the company of young children, he lost both his stammer and his shyness. Carroll confessed in 1858 that ‘they [the children] are three fourths my life’. And this is why he wrote what appeared to be children's stories. Creative, talented people do not use drugs to give themselves inspiration. To ‘receive’ musical inspiration needs the person to be able to perceive ‘inner sounds’. Sounds that are not heard with the ears. Thus a musician will use techniques where peace and quiet can be obtained or produced. In contrast those in the visual arts – film/movies, videos, painting, sculpture and computer games need to shut their eyes to ‘imagine’ – receive - pictures. And once one has one’s eyes closed , a method is needed to ensure the pictures stay in one’s memory/perceptions. Hypnagogia is the transitional state of consciousness between being awake and being asleep. Salvador Dali used this method. But this form of inspiration is often short and better suited to paintings, inventions and flashes of blue sky insight. Film producers and video makers need more prolonged moving images.
