My Reaction To Sydney's American Eagle Ad: I Had Great Jeans FIRST | Hot Takes
Mike RoweSydney Sweeney’s American Eagle ad shocked many Americans like they’d never been shocked before. But was it really unprecedented? 14 years ago, I did a Lee Jeans ad conflating my genes with my jeans, and in this video, I talk about why some people reacted so viciously to an age-old advertising trope—sex sells—and how the Overton window is slowly widening to expand what is considered civil discourse in America. Can This Treatment Change The Lives Of Veterans? | Rick Perry From #443 | The Way I Heard It
Mike RoweGovernor Rick Perry along with a growing number of others, many in the medical profession, are on a mission to make Ibogaine—a very old plant-based substance that has, for years, been a classified as a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance (and therefore illegal in this the US)—available in this country, and they make a VERY compelling case as to why. In short, hundreds of individuals, many of whom are veterans, have been restored to their former selves after just one treatment. Rick believes the time is long past due to bring those clinics to America and get Ibogaine off Schedule 1. I know this topic is controversial. When I first announced that I’d talk to the former governor about a hallucinogen, I heard from people who expressed their disappointment. Personally, I don’t think this is the time to wait for the medical establishment, or our elected officials, or all the various agencies to weigh in on the potential risks of a plant based substance that seems to getting some extraordinarily positive results. In my opinion, men and women should have the right to try to save themselves with any substance that can offer them a reasonable shot at peace. And the evidence that Ibogaine can do so is impossible to ignore. Subscribe to my channel: https://rumble.com/c/MikeRowe If you like me, and even if you don't, follow me. Can We Fix The American Diet? | Jillian Michaels #441 | The Way I Heard It
Mike RoweJillian Michaels is a health fitness expert, podcaster, and bestselling author best known for her role on The Biggest Loser. But more than all that, she is an independent woman who has strong opinions on a wide array of topics—from the California wildfires and their mismanagement to all that’s wrong with the American diet and how we can fix it. After talking with her for five minutes, you feel like you’ve known her forever. She’s thoughtful, curious, and not afraid to stand up for what she believes in. Take a look and I’ll bet you’ll agree. Exposing The Lies Of January 6th | Nick Searcy #446 | The Way I Heard It
Mike RoweYou might know Nick Searcy from Justified, Fried Green Tomatoes, or maybe 40 other films that he's done. He's a terrific character actor, with a new book called Justify This, which I recommend enthusiastically. Like the author, it’s smart, funny, and honest. Nick and I met over Zoom about a year and a half ago, shortly after he released a movie called Capitol Punishment. The film chronicles the events of January 6th, and does so in a way that’s (profoundly) inconsistent with the finding of the January 6th Committee. In fact, Capitol Punishment nearly got him cancelled. Controversy notwithstanding, I thought it was a film worth talking about, and welcomed Nick onto the podcast to discuss it. I’m glad I did. And I’m doubly glad I invited him back 18 months later, after the country had a chance to really consider the events in question. I admire Nick, not because of the things we agree on, but because he was willing to risk his career by making a film that made a lot of powerful people very uncomfortable. You may not agree with his politics, but you can’t deny his integrity or his courage. Or, modesty aside, the excellence of our conversation. Dirty Jobs, Laundromats, And Why Curiosity Always Wins | Codie Sanchez #439 | The Way I Heard It
Mike RoweCodie Sanchez is on a mission to create 1 million financially free humans through business ownership, and it looks like she’s going to accomplish that very thing. But that’s not why I invited her onto the podcast. I invited her on because the businesses she invests in are unglamorous, unsexy, and boring. They are by no means among the careers most people are told they should aspire to. Through Main Street Hold Co. and Contrarian Thinking Capital, Codie and her partners buy and invest in Main Street businesses. Dirty Jobs, in other words. And they are absolutely killing it. This is a really fun chat that zigs and zags like most of my conversations, but it’s also filled with advice I think a lot of people could benefit from. Her success is a reflection of her personal story, and her story is one that most people will relate to. A special thanks to: A Knobel Whiskey For A Noble Cause.
