First Flame - The Beloved
Music - English - Emmaus Road DiscipleshipThis Christian song is the first in our album on Song Of Songs. It's setting is Song Of Songs 1:16 - with allusions to the Lover's setting in 1:17 (a forest cathedral). Remember, these are spiritual beings - not less but more real that we are. They are always escaping into nature - not into palaces and such. This song will be followed by 'First Flame - The Lover'1.22K views 11 comments -
First Flame - The Lover
Music - English - Emmaus Road DiscipleshipThis Christian song is the 2nd on our Song Of Songs Album. The first song was sung by The Beloved. The 2nd is sung by The Lover - symbolizing Jesus. The Beloved is the Church. The dwelling place imagery for the Beloved is a grassy field. Interestingly, The Lover idealizes her as a mystical mare. His dwelling place imagery is a forest cathedral (temple). The characters are mystical in nature but, if anything, more real than we are. So they have no constraints and nature scenes are their normal chosen dwelling place.1.1K views 7 comments -
Night Search
Music - English - Emmaus Road DiscipleshipThis Christian Song is based on Song Of Songs 3:1-5. The beloved (Us) is maturing to the point of seeking The Lover (Jesus). The Watchmen are assisting. The Lover is close by and relatively easy to search out. It takes effort - but nothing like what she will go through in chapter 5 when she discovers she can be lukewarm if she's not careful - and goes through a horrendous experience. 'Her Mother's house' is both the realm of the Holy Spirit and nature.1.23K views 10 comments -
My Shining Jewel
Music - English - Emmaus Road DiscipleshipThis Christian song is part of the Song Of Songs series - based on 4:9. It's one of several instances in the book which describe how something she does impacts him directly. Her eyes impact him - but also her necklace. So we interpret to be her good works and character - both of which were gifted to her. They adorn and beautify her.1.14K views 30 comments -
Gateway To Paradise
Music - English - Emmaus Road DiscipleshipThis Christian song is based on Song Of Songs chapter 5. We brought some New Testament revelation into the story - namely that Jesus, too, had been 'beaten by the watchmen' - to death, in fact. Since Jesus was buried with about 100 pounds of myrrh we refer to the passion of His Suffering Love as 'the scent of myrrh'. Now, He is already in an Eden Paradise in the first verse of the chapter. Joining her in her comforts is NOT his intent. He is inviting her to do what, for us, is the most intimate thing - to partake in His sufferings. So, the worst thing about her laziness, which causes Him to leave out into the night without her, is that, perhaps, she could have endured suffering hand in hand with Him. But the watchmen do, indeed, find her and beat her - which is her fellowship in HIS sufferings. But then, as we show in the graphic, the women who see her call her 'the most beautiful of women'. She gets an even stronger response from THE LOVER later on, in chapter 6. But read her poem in chapter 5 and note that she had never been so eloquent. We studied this in detail and her words in chapter 5 are a Quantum leap more eloquent than anything she had said previously.1.25K views 7 comments -
Your Heart - My LOve
Music - English - Emmaus Road DiscipleshipThis Christian song is the companion song to 'GATEWAY TO PARADISE' - which was chapter 5 from the LOVER'S point of view. This song is Chapter 5 from the BELOVED's point of view. After much discussion we concluded it was unlikely the LOVER wanted in to worldly comfort. It's far more likely that He was calling his beloved out of worldly comfort and into the night . First of all, He left quickly - which would be weird if he's just wanted in. Secondly, her hands we "dripping with myrrh" when she reached for the door. That signifies her willingness to suffer due to her love for the Lover..1.28K views 28 comments -
Most Beautiful
Music - English - Emmaus Road DiscipleshipThis Christian song shows how the Beloved was Beautified by sharing in the sufferings of Christ. We bring some New Testament truth, not found in Song Of Songs itself in that Jesus took a far worse beating at the hand of the watchmen - even unto death - than the Beloved did. Now noticing that the Beloved's hands were 'dripping with myrrh' when she plunged out into the night indicates her willingness to suffer anything in order to find her Lover. She is beaten by the watchmen. As you see, she's worse for the wear and yet the women who find her call her 'the most beautiful of women'. Yet, even in our graphic, she seems so. Song of Songs 6:5 uses astonishing language in the hebrew. It says her eyes 'take him by storm'. But the word translated 'take him by storm' is from the stem word 'Rahab' - the primordial monster. The verb form means to speak violently, forcefully or in a stormy manner. No wonder the Lover requests that she 'avert her eyes from Him!' We know we can grieve the Holy Spirit and please God. But this takes our impact on our Lord to a whole new level. We often make the case that the most intimate fellowship with Our Lord is obtained when we partake in fellowship with His sufferings.1.42K views 30 comments -
Spiritual Sister Bride
Music - English - Emmaus Road DiscipleshipThis Christian song is part of our Song Of Songs album - 3rd from the end. It deals with the first verses of chapter 8. Here the bride wishes her lover had been her physical brother - which in physical terms would be incest. But this shows that we are talking about spiritual 'super romance' - in which there is no incest possible. So we clear that up and we also make it clear that the bride is the church, the body of Christ, the bride of Christ. Some of the words are obscure UNTIL you read chapter 8 closely. She comes out of the wilderness. In song of songs she is in a sort of wilderness after her failure in chapter 5, in which the watchmen beat her. Her recovery from that to give her whole being to him is significant. She 'rouses his love in 8:5. There are three other such instances in song of songs. It is, therefore, extremely insightful. Apparently, pleasing the lord is not just a euphemism for obedience. We genuinely 'please' Him - ie make Him happy.1.21K views 15 comments -
Like A Seal On His Heart - Song Of Songs
Music - English - Emmaus Road DiscipleshipThis Christian Song is taken from the last chapter 8 of Song of Songs - verses 6 and 7 Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. 7Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away. This also quotes Romans 8 about how noting can separate us from our Lord.1.88K views 15 comments -
