2 Timothy 3 & 4 - 3:1 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. 2017
RVTA2 Tim 3:1 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. Paul is telling Timothy of the last days spoken of in Scripture. He could be describing a number of passages in the Tanakh here, but he is mostly focusing on Daniel 11. The vision starts with a visit from a messenger in Daniel 10. Dan 10:14 “Now I have come to give you an understanding of what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision pertains to the days yet future.” Keep in mind that Yeshua said that to learn of the last days, look at what was written by the prophet Daniel. Paul knew this. Matt. 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a witness to all the nations, and then the end shall come. 2 Tim 3:2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, Men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers Dan 11:21-24, 43). Unholy Dan 11:28, 30-32). Disobedient to parents Dan 11:37-38). 2 Tim 3:3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, In the last days, men will be unloving, irreconcilable, diabolical Dan 11:27). Without self-control Dan 11:30). Brutal, haters of God Dan 11:33-35). 2 Tim 3:4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; In the last days men will be treacherous, reckless, conceited Dan 11:39). Conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God Dan 11:36-37). 2 Tim 3:5 holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; and avoid such men as these. Godliness is being like Elohim. Islam is a corruption of godliness and holiness through their Koran. Dan 7:25). Holding to a form of godliness, yet denying its power. Dan 11:28, 30-31).13 views 1 comment -
2 Timothy 1 & 2 – What does it mean to be “saved?”
RVTA2 Tim 1:8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, or of me His prisoner; but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God, Paul tells Timothy not to be ashamed of the testimony of our Master (Psalm 119:46-50, Isa. 51:7, Psalm 19:7-11, Mark 8:38, Isa. 8:16, Isa. 8:20). 2 Tim 1:9 who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity, The power of Elohim saves us and calls us according to His purpose. His people are not called and saved by anything they have done. Peter says we are called to follow in the footsteps of Yeshua and follow Torah. 1 Peter 2:20-21 For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God. 21For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps,27 views 1 comment
