ETERNAL DARKNESS is based off of the legendary game by Silicon Knights. Originally presented as three separate Mixes corresponding to the three Ancients (Chattur’gha, Ulyaoth and Xel’lotath), it has now been streamlined into one Supermix with the dominant Ancient in our Reality being Xel’lotath, the Bringer of Insanity. The cutscenes for Chattur’gha (the Great Being of Matter) and Ulyaoth (Master of the Planes) will now be included to detail the happenings in other Realities which exist parallel to our own. Humanity has been on the brink of extinction for the past 2000 years. Eons ago, the three Ancients, malevolent beings of unimaginable Power, were imprisoned by a (mostly) neutral entity known as Mantorok. The Binding of Mantorok has removed the balance which kept the Ancients imprisoned and allowed dark forces to begin the summoning spell that will bring Xel’lotath into our Universe. Come join Humanity in the fight against the Darkness.

The Binding of Mantorok - Silicon Knights
Later Days"Thy time is done Great Ancient. Forever in shadow will you be, Master of Chaos! And to fade to nothing in obscurity will be thy fate. My master has planned many millennia for this day. It is the true chaos of all things that you now must be entombed amongst the beings of flesh and bone." ETERNAL DARKNESS: Part One Scene: The Binding of the Corpse God Artist: Silicon Knights Game: Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem Quote: Pious Augustus/The Tome of Eternal Darkness IN WHICH: Pious Augustus, Liche servant of the Darkness, binds the Great Ancient Mantorok and upsets the Eternal Balance which imprisons the three Ancients and keeps them separate from our Reality. With the power of Mantorok nullified, the way is now open for Xel'lotath, the Great Ancient of Insanity, to extend It's influence and prepare to enter our Universe.6 views -
The Power - Jerry Goldsmith
Later Days"You are one of the chosen many, flesh and blood. It is now your destiny to fight the Eternal Darkness.. You hold one of Mantorok’s hearts. To some it is a source of great power. From these people, you must defend it, lest they use it to destroy what little brightness your world has left in it... Guard it well!" LATER DAYS: The Jerry Goldsmith Experience: Track Nine Song: The Power Artist: Jerry Goldsmith Album: Poltergeist 2: The Other Side OST Quote: Mantorok/Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem Mix: Eternal Darkness IN WHICH: As the planetary alignment approaches, the chosen gather atop a spire of stone to be gifted with the Power to destroy Evil. I have a hard time deciding which of the first two Poltergeist movies has the better score. Jerry's work on both of them is nothing short of astonishing. I used several songs from Poltergeist 2: The Other Side on the Mix ETERNAL DARKNESS, this being the opening song for that Mix. Yeah, in the end I have decided NOT to decide. It's all Jerry and it's all awesome.13 views -
Winter is Coming - Ramin Djawadi
Later Days"The Ancient’s influence was incredible. From all walks of life, to all parts of our world, their tendrils crept and wrought their insidious damage. With the fear of devilry running rampant, the Ancient’s corruption extended far beyond the knowledge, corrupting all that could be corrupted." ETERNAL DARKNESS: Part Three Song: Dark Wings Dark Words Artist: Ramin Djawadi Album: Game of Thrones OST Quote: Edward Roivas/The Tome of Eternal Darkness IN WHICH: Alex Roivas, the Guardian of Light, pores over the Tome of Eternal Darkness in an effort to understand the diabolical influence of Xel'lotath and those from the distant past that stood against the Darkness. CHRIS: As a secondary motif for the Mix I chose two different versions of the main theme from Game of Thrones, placing one near the beginning and one near the end. Ramin Djawadi is a musical genius who has composed one of the most incredible and well known themes of our age. This version of the theme is particularly foreboding and helps to underscore the power of the evil that silently encroaches upon us all.9 views -
The Gift of Forever - Steve Henifin
Later Days"You must forget the past. Despite who you are now, you will become something more, just as I have. But the sacrifice must be made. We must remain here and guard the Artifact. Dark things will come to claim it, and you must be strong to keep it from them. Without your sacrifice, the world will fall into Eternal Darkness." ETERNAL DARKNESS: Part Four Song: The Gift of Forever Artist: Steve Henifin Album: Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem OST Quote: Chandra (Paula Tiso) / Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem IN WHICH: In the distant past, a Princess in Persia sends her would be suitor, Karim, on a quest to retrieve THE VEIL OF ULYAOTH from deep within the Forgotten Temple. They both die so that their Spirits may remain behind to guard the Artifact throughout the ages.8 views -
The Absent Horror (Xel'lotath) - Silicon Knights
Later Days"There is much you do not know...and much you never will." ETERNAL DARKNESS: Part Five Scene: The Absent Horror (Xel'lotath) Artists: Voices (Jennifer Hale/Kim Mai Guest/Richard Doyle) Game: Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem Quote: Xel'lotath/Eternal Darkness IN WHICH: Pious Augustus makes contact with Xel'lotath from beyond the boundaries of our Reality. They discuss a possible flaw in the two thousand year plan to summon the Ancient of Insanity into our Universe. CHRIS: This is the first of three major cutscenes that are scattered throughout the Mix which feature Xel'lotath and Pious Augustus discussing various aspects of their long term plan to bring Eternal Darkness to our world. Only the coming planetary alignment will generate enough Power to fuel the massive summoning spell. The devastating effects of Insanity gripping our world can be felt as the Great Ancient's time approaches.9 views -

The Absent Horror (Ulyaoth) - Silicon Knights
Later Days"Such an irony that the Keeper Itself be imprisoned within the walls of It's own Magic." ETERNAL DARKNESS: Part Five Scene: The Absent Horror (Ulyaoth) Artists: Voices (Richard Doyal/Richard Doyle) Game: Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem Quote: Ulyaoth/Eternal Darkness IN WHICH: Pious Augustus makes contact with Ulyaoth from beyond the boundaries of our Reality. Eternal Darkness - Trust (Gloryhole)
Later Days"The veil of reality can only be pulled back so far, mortal. Take your stand, and fight the Darkness!" ETERNAL DARKNESS: XEL'LOTATH: Track Six Song: Gloryhole Artist: Trust Album: TR/ST Quote: Ellia/The Tome of Eternal Darkness IN WHICH: The Essence of Mantorok comes to the Guardians of Light at last, bringing Hope. Although it may seem at times that evil permanently has the upper hand, such is not the case. All around us, in every walk of life, the forces of good are always working for the Glory of the Lord. "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)7 views -
The Gathering of Light - Jerry Goldsmith (Late Call)
Later Days"A hundred summers to a day We have waited here for you. Seeing that you've found the way, It must certainly be you. Your hunger and your thirst to still, All is here in readiness. You shall eat and drink your fill, Sheltered in our tenderness. Regardless whether good or bad, You've suffered much and traveled far. Take comfort for the trials you've had. We'll have you just the way you are." LATER DAYS: The Jerry Goldsmith Experience: Track Thirteen Song: Late Call Artist: Jerry Goldsmith Album: Poltergeist 2: The Other Side OST Quote: Dame Eyola/The Never Ending Story Mix: Eternal Darkness IN WHICH: As the Darkness of corruption and insanity relentlessly encroaches upon us, the Light gathers together in the name of the Lord to stand against it. SPIRIT: "Be strong and take heart, all who hope in the Lord." - Psalm 31:25 ETERNAL DARKNESS is another Mix which, like THE MASTER SWORD, required me to take a few liberties with the song titles in order for the Mix to make sense. I don't do this anymore but I'd just like to clarify that this composition is entitled "Late Call" and comes from Jerry's hauntingly beautiful score for Poltergiest 2: The Other Side.6 views -
Corrosion of the Dead God (Xel'lotath) - Silicon Knights
