Continuing the focus on getting XP and loot. I prefer getting to lvl 3-4 before taking on any major fights. Getting to the Underdark gets you most of the XP via exploration alone. Then paying a visit to the Zhentarim to get the Titanstring Bow and Gloves of Archery.
