Biblical Doctrine 002 - Bibliology
R&R DevotionalR&R Devotional Bible Study Doctrine Series Bibliology: the study of the Bible We are duty bound to properly and accurately understand the Word of Yahweh. It is imposed upon us as His slaves to do so... -Hebrews 2.1-2 -There is nothing more angering to Yahweh than disbelief. The wrath of Yahweh is being revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of those who suppress the truth of God in all unrighteousness [Romans 1.18]... We must take Yahweh literally [exactly] and at face value. We must believe Yahweh. The Word of God alone is truth [Genesis - Revelation], and it alone is objective factual data, not subjective opinions... -We are commended to believe Yahweh, it would be very mechanical for Yahweh to command us to believe Him, yet make truth subjective... True Godly faith only comes through The Word of Yahweh. Faith comes only from the hearing of the Word of Christ, and the gospel is the power of Yahweh unto salvation... -Romans 1.16-17 -Romans 10.17 The sections of the Bible are: -The Law [Genesis – Deuteronomy] -History [Joshua – Esther] -Wisdom Writings [Job – Song of Songs] -The Prophets: Major [Isaiah – Daniel] Minor [Hosea – Malachi] -The Gospel Accounts [Matthew – John] -Concerning the Church [Acts; Revelation] -The Epistles: Pauline [Romans – Philemon] General [Hebrews – Jude] -The Bible was authored by the Holy Spirit through the penmanship of man; it was written over 1,500 years by 30+ men... There are no errors in The Word of Yahweh, and there are no contradictions in The Word of Yahweh... -Anything that might seem a paradox is really not. There are things that we are finite and fallen cannot understand... -There are mysteries and Divine mysteries which Yahweh does tell us and we are just to accept as truth [I will tell you, and even being told, you will not understand... Habakkuk 1.5] If we have a faulty and aberrant understanding of The Word of Yahweh, we cannot properly know Yahweh, nor can we properly adhere to Yahweh, nor can we understand the rest of Theology... -The Word of God is actually crystal clear. The problem is that we cannot and will not accept the truth of God on our own... -1 Corinthians 2.14: 'But a natural man does not accept the depths of The Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually examined.' [see also Romans 8.7-8] -This actually ties into Pneumatology [the study of The Holy Spirit] because we need to be graciously indwelt with The Holy Spirit to take Yahweh at His word, and we need The Holy Spirit to actually teach us cause it is The Holy Spirit who points us to Christ, who is the foundation of the Word of God... Do not add to, nor take away from The Word of Yahweh... [Law] -Deuteronomy 4.2; 12.32; 28.13-15; 28.58-59 [History] -Joshua 1.8 [Wisdom] -Proverbs 30.6 [Prophets] -Jeremiah 26.2 -Jonah 3.2 [Gospels] -Matthew 5.18 [Epistles] -Galatians 1.9 [The Church] -Revelation 22.18-19 The Word of Yahweh is: -A lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path... [Psalm 119] -A fire... [Jerimiah 24.29] -An hammer... [Jerimiah 24.29] -Sharper than any two-edged sword which pierces... [Hebrews 4.12; Ephesians 6.17] -A mirror in which we see how Yahweh sees us... [James 1.23-25] -The only place were we are sanctified... [John 17.17-26] see also Richard Own Roberts: https://youtu.be/glJohr8YRwI?\si=2TxYqxpggs5LLGVd The Lord Christ Jesus is: -The Way -The Truth -The Life Therefore, we must understand that The Lord Christ Jesus is the crux of the Bible, and if our focus is not on Him, we are off base... -Not only this, we must understand that The Lord Christ Jesus alone has fulfilled the old covenant [has fulfilled The Law] The whole of the Bible points in one way or another to The Lord Christ Jesus. He is not in every single word and verse. But He can be seen in every single book and section of the Bible: -the Old Testament points forward to The Lord Christ Jesus... -The Gospel accounts tell of His first coming... -Acts tells of the spread of the Gospel and the beginning of the Church [which The Lord Christ Jesus alone is building on the Gospel message, and flesh and blood does not reveal the truth, but The Father who is in heaven].... -The Epistles explain the work of The Lord Christ Jesus... -Revelation [as well as some of what the prophets foretold] tell of the second coming of The Lord Christ Jesus... Doctrine divides truth from error: -What business has truth with error? -What business has darkness with light? -Do not be conformed to the world, but be renewed in the mind... -The Lord Christ Jesus tells us that He did not come with peace, but with a sword in Matthew 10.34-36 -The Lord Christ Jesus did not come to bring peace amongst all men, but peace between God and man, which means that those who are not of God will not be at peace with those who are truly of God...thus, true proper doctrine cannot co-exists with false doctrine... Primary vs. Secondary: -This is an argument that people like to pull out of their hat to try to explain away why the refuse to accept truth, and to get out of being studious in their study of the Bible... -The whole of Scripture is profitable for teaching and reproof... -The whole of Scripture is to point us to God through The Lord Christ Jesus... -The depth of our proper understanding of the Word of God equates to the depth of our relationship to Yahweh... -This goes back to the fact that if we have a shallow and/or aberrant understanding of the Word of God, we cannot and will not have a proper relationship to God... 2025 Research & Reference Devotional © All Rights Reserved11 views -

R&R Devotionalthe Problem with Modern Day Evangelicalism series: https://research-reference.bandcamp.com/album/r-r-the-problem-with-modern-day-evangelicalism-spoken R&R Devotional Bible Study Doctrine Series Overview When we come to the Bible, we must not look at ourselves, rather, we are to look to Yahweh... Job 40.1-14 Job 42.1-6 The terms 'Theology' and 'Doctrine' are terms that most run away from because people think they are too strict and archaic, and that they hold no value... -Many a person nowadays thinks that 'Christianity' is about focusing on ourselves, on our ability, and on our feelings and emotions.... The truth of the matter is that mindset is antithetical to the actual call of The Lord Christ Jesus... -We are to deny ourselves... -We are to pick up our cross [not a situation, but the instrument of death], and we are to die to self daily... -We are to submit to The Lord Christ Jesus... When we come to the Word of God, we are actually to study who God is, which is what the term 'Theology' actually is... -Theology = the study of God -This means that in all reality, everyone who is truly of God is, in fact, a theologian... The Bible is our text-book, and God Himself is the One that the text-book speaks about... -This means that both the old testament and the new testament are equally important, and nothing can be taken away... -This means that if we come to the Bible for any other reason than to know Yahweh, we are off base... -If our hunger and thirsting for knowing God is not there, then our claim to be Christian is questionable... Whilst the term 'Theology' and the titles of the doctrines that we will cover are not specifically in the Bible, they have been created and used by reputable men of old to teach and understands the basics of the Bible... -Part of the problem with modern day evengelicalism is that the terms are not used at all, and even the concepts that each term denotes are no longer really preached or taught from the pulpit, which they really ought to be... One of my greatest laments is not knowing proper theology, or knowing the doctrines when I was growing up... -Fortunately by the grace of Yahweh, I learned them after my conversion in 2013-14 -Even then...it was not till 2017[ish] when I was listening to sermon from Martyn Lloyd-Jones where I actually heard the reason for being a Christian in the first place: 1 Peter 3.18 -Also, concerning a church service, Martyn Lloyd Jones has a quote: 'A church service should be nothing but intolerable for a non-beleiver; and for those who believe, a service should make the believer humbled and chastened' -This is a reality I have never really had from a church service...
