Prov 23:29 Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has contentions? Who has complaining? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes? Prov 23:30 Those who linger long over wine, Those who go to taste mixed wine. Prov 23:31 Do not look on the wine when it is red, When it sparkles in the cup, When it goes down smoothly; Prov 23:32 At the last it bites like a serpent, And stings like a viper. Scripture gives us a case study of a drunkard. Prov 23:33 Your eyes will see strange things, And your mind will utter perverse things. Prov 23:34 And you will be like one who lies down in the middle of the sea, Or like one who lies down on the top of a mast. Prov 23:35 "They struck me, but I did not become ill; They beat me, but I did not know it. When shall I awake? I will seek another drink." The drunkard was beaten in a fight and did not even know it. He just wants another drink after he wakes up.

Prov 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it. Prov 22:6: This passage is one that is greatly misunderstood by contemporary Christianity because it has nothing to do with contemporary Christianity. The Hebrew word for "train" is chanack:H2596. chanak, [335b]; denom. vb. from H2441; to train up, dedicate:-- dedicated(4), train(1). Children embrace Torah when they are dedicated and directed towards it. To firmly dedicate our children to Torah is a direct command to His people. Deut. 6:6-9 Psalm 78:3-7 Eph. 6:4

Prov 21:20 There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise, But a foolish man swallows it up. The wise will plan and save for the future while the foolish person squanders what he has. River Valley Torah Assembly

Prov 20:29 The glory of young men is their strength, And the honor of old men is their gray hair. The strength and vitality of young men is replaced by wisdom and experience.

Prov 19:18 Discipline your son while there is hope, And do not desire his death. We are to discipline our children. To neglect to do so is to desire his death.

Prov 18:2 A fool does not delight in understanding, But only in revealing his own mind. Prov 18:2: A fool is not interested in learning, only in giving his opinion.

Prov 17:5 He who mocks the poor reproaches his Maker; He who rejoices at calamity will not go unpunished. The poor among us are to be taken care of by His people. 1 John 3:17-18).

Prov 16:26 A worker's appetite works for him, For his hunger urges him on. It is a workers hunger that is his strongest incentive to work diligently. (2 Thess. 3:10).

Prov 15:28 The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, But the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things. Answers to questions and dilemmas should be thought out and studied.

Prov 14:29 He who is slow to anger has great understanding, But he who is quick-tempered exalts folly. In the fear of Yahweh is strong confidence and a fountain of life. We should control our temper.
