Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that Moscow’s response would be “very serious, if not overwhelming” if Ukraine used U.S.-made Tomahawk missiles in strikes on Russian territory. Putin described the potential supply of long-range missiles to Kyiv as “an escalation attempt” and urged Western nations “to think about it.” Ukraine has repeatedly requested the missiles, including during President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House last week. According to U.S. reports, Zelenskyy did not secure a delivery. Speaking separately, Trump did not confirm whether Washington might provide the missiles, which have a range of around 2,500 kilometers, saying they require “long and intensive training” to operate.
