NUMBER$ (Book 4)

God prepares the Israelites to go into the land of Caanan by advising them how to organize troops. Eligible males over 20 who made up the force number over 600,000 people.

God commands the Israelites to organize their troops by family clan. He commands the Levites to camp in between the other families with the tabernacle.

God assigns the transport of the tabernacle to the Levites. God assigns the camp arrangements of the Levite clans, Moses, and Aaron.

God assigns specific duties for each Levite clan. Aaron's sons are assigned supervisory roles.

God commands Moses and Aaron to remove lepers, ceremonially unclean people, and those with unusual discharges from camp to prevent illness from spreading. This chapter includes a warning of how women are severely affected by a jealous husband, warranted or not.

God clarifies how any Israelite participating in the Nazarite ritual is to behave during the specified consecration time.

This chapter details the offerings made from the 12 tribes of Israel.

God instructs Moses to conduct a purification ceremony on the Levites. He clarifies they are to help Aaron and his sons with tabernacle work. Age requirements for service are given.

Moses and the Israelites are in the 1st month of the 2nd year out of Egypt (Exodus 12). God reminds them the Passover is coming up on the 14th day and he wats them to celebrate it.

God commands Moses to create two trumpets to guide the Israelites and consecrate memorable events. Israel travels from the wilderness of Sinai to the wilderness of Param.
