Charles Jennings (Layman's Seminary) claims that covenants are not salvific and claims that the blood of Jesus saves, not the Covenant. But isn't Jesus blood the blood OF THE NEW COVENANT? We will examine this and more.

Does this mean that nobody is guilty of sin? Or was it paid for as a gift that must be received?

Kevin and I did a review of a debate between Free Gracers and Calvinists. In the side chat were Charles Jennings (who was one of the two Free Grace proponents) and C Jay Cox who is Lordship Salvation but not in the debate. Kevin and I reject both extremes and consider ourselves moderate Lordship Salvation (which in my opinion overlaps with moderate Free Grace). The problem with the term "Free Grace" is that is describes a number of different positions and is essentially a "false dichotomy" argument that is trying to distinguish itself from "Lordship Salvation" which is also a broad umbrella term that is not a unified position. Scripture presents a more complex situation than either of those two positions generally acknowledge. Why is there controversy about the gospel that Ray Comfort preaches? Is repentance necessary for salvation? Yes. Does repentance mean to "turn from sin"? Yes, but only in your mind. The change in life is later. What does the word "repentance" literally mean? It is a translation of the word "μετανοια" which means "another mind/thinking" and is used to mean "a change of mind". Jamie says that trees don't necessarily produce fruit and so it's not guaranteed that a good tree will produce good fruit. Lack of fruit does not prove lack of a good tree. God requires us to love Him with all our heart and mind and soul and strength. That is His standard. If you are not doing that, you are worshipping the devil because there are only two kingdoms. Anything not done in worship, love, service and trust of God, serves the kingdom of darkness and therefore the devil. However, we cannot do that perfectly, so God accepts imperfect, incomplete faith Jesus Christ as being sufficient for Him to gift us with the imputed righteousness of Christ which covers our sins.
