Super Metroid

Well now it looks like it is the end of the road to this great game boy I had so much fun with it and it sucks it all has to end, but all good things come to an end eh? With all four space pirate bosses down the only thing left is Mother Brain and let me just say...She is the most annoying, annoyyyyyyinnnnnnggggg boss in the game to deal with nevermind the path you have to take to get to her being annoying with Metroids flying around attacking you but her fight itself due to her constantly shooting at you constantly from all different directions plus on top of that you having to shoot your way to her by shooting those glass container looking things. After that you can start fighting her directly and it is still annoying as heck luckily you can retreat and refill your health if you have to in this one which I end up doing. And as if she wasn't annoying to deal with already she has a 2nd form to deal with! But it is a bit less annoying to deal with and at the end the baby Metroid that Samus had sacrifices itself and ends up dying which is kinda sad she didn't get to save it. Sadly the ending I could not get the best ending well the ending where if you beat the game in 2 hours or less Samus takes her suit off completely I was short by just a bit of time. But on the flip side, I got the best ending in that those little friendly animals I met in the Brinstar area got saved and they can be seen flying away from the planet in the background if you look closely and apparently those animals getting away is the canon end to this game as they will appear in another Metroid from what I heard. getting closer and closer to the end of the game! So here is the biggest part now! Ridley's Lair! Yep, it is time to take on Ridley for real this time and fight him! Ridley's Lair is deep in Norfair and you need the Gravity Suit to get there as Samus needs to cross through the lava. What can I say about Ridley's Lair? Well it is one of the tougher areas in the game and has a lot and I mean a looot of acid in it that the Gravity Suit does not protect against it. But I do get a really good major upgrade here and that is the Screw Attack which allows Samus to kill stuff by jumping in the air as a ball and she even has invincibility frames. Now Ridley himself? Maaaan the sucker even when I have practiced to fight him multiple times is still tough! He takes a crap ton of damage and on top of that since I can't see him half the time due to him flying I can't hit him good and this whole fight is just a mess but I did a lot better than my first attempts at him! Even though this fight was annoying as heck I did still enjoy it the fight was tense as heck and just a back and forth slug fest!

More backtracking in this video in preparation for the end of the game as there is not much left to do here! So I take the time in this one to revisit a few of the areas where I may have forgotten to or was unable to pick up certain things and boy is there still a crap ton of stuff scattered around like I said before it is amazing just how many little secrets is crammed into this game and where you can find some of this stuff at.

Alrighty now nearing the end of this great game already! Anyway it is time to continue on! Since I beat the boss of Maridia and got the Space Jump I go ahead and do some backtracking in this video spebnding pretty much all my time in Maridia still to pick up any items I missed or couldn't pick up before. During this session I grab the Plasma Beam the final and strongest weapon Samus can use and I get the Spring Ball which lets Samus jump while in ball form.

Good morning everyone well now here we are with yet another video for some Metroid! And equipped with the brand new Gravity Suit it is time to explore a brand new area and that is Maridia which is pretty much the water area of this game! And I gotta say pretty fun place to play and some good music in the areas too. I have grown such a soft spot for underwater levels in games and this one is no exception! Maridia when i first got to this place I would get a bit lost in it as parts of it do feel a bit like a maze, especially in the 2nd portion. And speaking of the 2nd portion it has metroids roaming around as enemies what gives eh? I thought Samus got rid of all of them in the last game. The next major boss faced in this place is Draygon a pretty easy boss to kill if you do it the fast method like I did which was using the electricity on the walls to shock it to death be warned though you take some damage too! But it is all worth it in the end because one of the best powerups in the game in my opinion is gotten here and that is the Space Jump! ooh, the Space Jump it lets you pretty much infinite jump letting you move around pretty much anywhere in the game! And the reason why I like it so much is it also saves me from having to use the wall jump which I just cannot for the life of me reliably do in this game I do not like trying to wall jump in this Metroid man.

Since the last video I spent time pretty much backtracking and picking up a crap ton of items and a few energy tanks between it is finally time I go forward with the main game! And this eventually leads into a brand new area the Wrecked Ship which is a place I was not expecting to see in a Metroid game a creepy place like that filled with ghosts of the dead? yeah, I was not counting on that at all. The boss of this area is another major boss and a new member of the space pirate crew Phantoon and he is by far besides Ridely of the space pirate crew one of the most annoying bosses to fight I can never for the life of me fully avoid taking some damage from Phantoon but at least this time I beat him with most of my energy reserves still there when I first faced him I lost all of them. Further into the wrecked ship I get another and the last suit upgrade in the game the Gravity Suit I love the Gravity Suit for Samus I like the purple color it gives her she looks so much better in that than the Varia if you ask me. So with that suit watery areas can be traveled like normal and her heat resistance is further boosted.

Here we go with the next part to this gameplay of mine and in this part before really progressing further through the game I do a lot of backtracking through a few previously visited areas why? Because this game has a lot of hidden secrets and item pickups scattered all over the place so in this one I pretty much go around picking up a lot of them and boy do I mean a lot! I picked up so many missle upgrades here and even an energy tank or two as well. Oh and I come across some friendly animal buddies that will play a part later in the game in determining the ending depending on if you rescue them or not.

Time for the next video in this playthrough and things continue to progress smooth! In this part I go ahead and further explore Brinstar and then later go back into Norfair to explore it even more deeply and eventually, I find the grappling hook upgrade which will be useful for certain parts of the game where it is needed to progress forward. Also deep within Norfair I bump into another boss that must be fought..Well kinda you see this boss is Crocomire and well I don't think he is actually evil and just there as fun fact if you do not attack him he will not attack you at all and the entire battle consists of you pushing him away and eventually he falls into the acid and dies a pretty tragic fate he did not deserve what he got but he was standing in Samus's path and well when she is on a mission you don't want to do that.

Pressing forward in the game I face one of the first major bosses in this game that being Kraid who when I first fought him he surprised the hell outta me as I wasn't expecting to run into something so dang big! but despite his size and fierce look he can be dropped rather quickly with missiles and even faster with the super ones. After I serve his beatdown I get a suit upgrade and a major one that being the Varia suit which in this game makes Samus resistant to heat so now Norfair can be explored safely and the sheer ambient heat won't toast her up from just being there.

Alrighty now here we are with the next part to my Super Metroid gameplay and it is off to a brand new area to explore in this one and that is the Brinstar underground jungle! And one of my favorite areas in this game this place is loads of fun to play I like it, its pretty big, its filled with many secrets and the music is jam like some of the best music in the game is in this place. On the way through the place I end up fighting another mini boss this one is called Spore Spawn and the name of this boss is pretty accurate to what it does in the boss fight, it just spawns a bunch of spores on the screen which are easy to dodge this is the easiest mini boss in the game and he leads to a new weapon the super missle which will be being used to open up the green colored doors that we see here and there in the game and to serve as a stronger missle compared to the regular ones although I don't really use the super missle all that much heh.
