Tide of Life is a three-part miniseries adaptation of Catherine Cookson’s 1976 novel of the same name. All episodes with optional English subtitles (click on CC for subtitles). Young housekeeper Emily navigates relationships with three men: employer Sep McGilby's tragic marriage plan, farmer Larry Birch's household, and Nick Stuart inheriting Birch's wife's farm, offering Emily a future.

Maelstrom is a BBC television drama miniseries broadcast in 1985. The six-part serial was written by Michael J. Bird, produced by Vere Lorrimer and directed by David Maloney. The major cast members included Tusse Silberg, David Beames, Trevor Baxter, Susan Gilmore, Edita Brychta, John Abineri, Christopher Scoular and Ann Todd. The production was filmed on location in the Ålesund area of Norway. Maelstrom was essentially a thriller series, centering on a young woman who travels to Norway to claim an inheritance. She finds herself involved in the mysterious dealings of the family of her deceased benefactor. Episode 1: Catherine Durrell receives a legacy from a Wealthy Norwegian, she travels out to find out why and the reasons behind her benefactors sudden generosity. Episode 2: Catherine fails to find reasons for her inheritance, she gets closer to journalist Anders Bjornson and meets Astrid Linderman an elderly relative of Jordahl. Episode 3: Catherine is convinced someone is living on the Island, she and Anders investigate, and enquire about Freya's state of mind before she died. Episode 4: Catherine and Lars become closer. Ingrid's mental decline seems to continue, Catherine confides her fears in Doctor Albrigtsen, showing him Ingrid's paintings. Episode 5: Catherine unearths Freya's diary, it contains strange entries, implying Freya's alive. Anders gets the handwriting tested. Episode 6: Anders learns the writer is schizophrenic, Catherine uncovers the truth about her legacy. It's Midsummer's Eve, painful secrets are unearthed and tragedy strikes.

Moonfleet is a British period television drama series which aired on BBC One in 1984. It is based on the classic 1898 adventure novel Moonfleet by J. Meade Falkner, about smuggling on the Dorset coast in the eighteenth century, earlier made into a 1955 film of the same title directed by Fritz Lang. 15-year-old John Trenchard meets the innkeeper Elzevir Block in the town of Moonfleet. You hear about a mysterious legend of Blackbeard and a treasure. The two decide to get to the bottom of the matter. A dangerous journey begins.
