Dead Space (2008) Playthrough Part 1
HasselHoffman GamingPlaythrough of Dead Space (2008). Will be playing through the game on Hard Difficulty. Hello again. I figured with Halloween coming up, it would be fitting to play through a horror game this time. I'll try to play two chapters in each vid. Hope you enjoy! Dead Space (2008) Playthrough Part 2
HasselHoffman GamingPlaythrough of Dead Space (2008). Will be playing through the game on Hard Difficulty. You're probably wondering why I just don't press "Continue Game" in the main menu. The reason for that is because there's a well-known glitch that messes with the difficulty of the save file when hitting "Continue Game." It's unfortunate that the PC Port of this game has some issues to iron out that never got fixed. Hope you enjoy! Chapters Covered: Course Correction Obliteration Imminent11 views -
Dead Space (2008) Playthrough Part 3
HasselHoffman GamingPlaythrough of Dead Space (2008). Will be playing through the game on Hard Difficulty. I thought The Hunter (Regenerating Necromorph) was going to give me more trouble. Turns out Stasis is one of the best things you can use against it. That's why I'm focusing on upgrading that alongside the Plasma Cutter and the RIG. I'll admit the Leviathan Boss Fight took longer than it should have. Not only did I need to stock up more on ammo, I also had to time my attacks at the right moment before it shot the projectiles. Hope you enjoy! Chapters Covered: Lethal Devotion Environmental Hazard12 views -
Dead Space (2008) Playthrough Part 4
HasselHoffman GamingPlaythrough of Dead Space (2008). Will be playing through the game on Hard Difficulty. One thing you'll notice if you played this before is that on the lower difficulties, you'll find you'll be selling stuff at the store very frequently for credits and freeing up storage in your inventory due to how fast it fills up. That is not the case on Hard mode. I found myself buying more ammo at the store way more than I did on the lower difficulties. Again, stasis is your best friend on the higher difficulties. Hope you enjoy! Chapters Covered: Into the Void Search and Rescue6 views -
Dead Space (2008) Playthrough Part 5
HasselHoffman GamingPlaythrough of Dead Space (2008). Will be playing through the game on Hard Difficulty. I should probably take the time to explain why I'm using the weapons in my current loadout and my thoughts on all weapons in the game. Plasma Cutter: It's the most versatile weapon in the game. The game clearly wants you to use as your main weapon for most of it. It will get you out of a lot of bad situations. Ripper: Definitely a weapon you want to use for getting up close and personal. Ammo for it drops frequently and you can get easy credits for selling it. It's weapon that will pay for itself when sell the ammo for power nodes. I haven't used it as much in this round due to how weak it is when not upgraded on Hard mode. However, I do intend to make more use of it on the next round (spoilers). Contact Beam: Probably the best Damage Dealer in the game. The only issue with it is it's rate of fire. Even when not upgraded it basically acts as a delete button for a large number of necromorphs. I also find this the best weapon for dealing with Brutes. It'll blow it's arms off after a few shots. Force Gun: Not the best when you first get it. It's perfect for pushing enemies off of you if you're surrounded. It's the best way of dealing with the tiny pests you need to shake off of you (the name of them escapes me). When it's fully upgraded, it deal out a lot of damage in a great way. I'll give my thoughts on the other weapons in a later vid. Hope you enjoy and Happy Halloween!!! Dead Space (2008) Playthrough Part 6
HasselHoffman GamingPlaythrough of Dead Space (2008). Will be playing through the game on Hard Difficulty. Well, the first round is completed. The Hive Mind Boss Fight is pretty straightforward. The only difficult part is trying to aim your weapon while's dangling you in the air. If you couldn't tell, I nearly died at that part of the fight. I won't be stopping here though. I'm a bit of a Completionist when it comes to video games. So I'll be playing through another round to upgrade all the weapons. Shouldn't be that hard now that I'm only buying one more suit right?....right? Happy Halloween and...Altman be praised. Chapters Covered: Alternate Solutions Dead Space10 views -
Dead Space (2008) Playthrough Part 7 - Round 2
HasselHoffman GamingPlaythrough of Dead Space (2008). Will be playing through the game on Hard Difficulty. Time for Round 2. Now that I unlocked the best suit in the game, I am now able to put more credits towards power nodes. One thing I recently noticed in regards to dismemberment of the necromorphs is that they tend to go down faster when shooting them in the arms instead of the legs in most cases. I also said I would be using the Ripper more on this round since I can afford to upgrade it more. Hope you enjoy the second round!8 views -
Dead Space (2008) Playthrough Part 8 - Round 2
HasselHoffman GamingPlaythrough of Dead Space (2008). Will be playing through the game on Hard Difficulty. Perhaps I should explain my reasoning for not using the other weapons. Pulse Rifle: The Pulse Rifle is a very polarizing weapon. Some call it one of the best weapons in the game when fully upgraded. Others call it complete garbage and shouldn't be used at all. I think it's more of a mid weapon. Not great, but also not terrible. I just think there are better options. Line Gun: This weapon I'll admit hits hard even when becomes really good when fully upgraded. There are few problems with this weapon though. The ammo takes up way too much space in your inventory (3 per slot). It also takes a lot of power nodes to fully upgrade it. Lastly, it's rate of fire is pretty poor. The Contact Beam I feel fulfills this weapon's role a lot better. Flamethrower: This is by far the worst weapon in the game. The weapon and inventory slots hold a lot of ammo and that's the only positive thing I can say about it. The damage output on this weapon even when fully upgraded is really bad. Not to mention in hard vacuum areas, you can't use it at all which hurts its viability even more. Technically you could burn away the tiny pests that occasionally pop up and when they burst out of pregnants, but the Force Gun does that job so much better. If you agree, disagree, or if you have a preferred loadout for this game let me know in the comments. I'd love to hear your reasoning. Hope you enjoy!32 views -
Dead Space (2008) Playthrough Part 9 - Round 2
HasselHoffman GamingPlaythrough of Dead Space (2008). Will be playing through the game on Hard Difficulty. Another thing I'm sure you've noticed on the second round is that there are extra logs that you can collect that did not appear in the last round of the game. That's another reason to play another round. If you're into the lore of the game. The Leviathan was far easier this go around since I learned to time the attacks and not just shoot it until it dies lol. Hope you enjoy!10 views -
Dead Space (2008) Playthrough Part 10 - Round 2
HasselHoffman GamingPlaythrough of Dead Space (2008). Will be playing through the game on Hard Difficulty. So far I'll admit, I thought it would've been more difficult on the second round. I think it's safe to say that's not the case. If you know how to attack each necromorph and what weapon to use against it, you'll be fine. Hope you enjoy!11 views
