The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
SIGOPSSgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (often referred to simply as Sgt. Pepper) is the eighth studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. Released on 26 May 1967, Sgt. Pepper is regarded by musicologists as an early concept album that advanced the roles of sound composition, extended form, psychedelic imagery, record sleeves, and the producer in popular music. The album had an immediate cross-generational impact and was associated with numerous touchstones of the era's youth culture, such as fashion, drugs, mysticism, and a sense of optimism and empowerment. Critics lauded the album for its innovations in songwriting, production and graphic design, for bridging a cultural divide between popular music and high art, and for reflecting the interests of contemporary youth and the counterculture. 01 Sgt. The Beatles - Don't Let Me Down
SIGOPSDon't Let Me Down is a song by the English rock band the Beatles, recorded in 1969 during the Let It Be sessions. It was written by John Lennon and credited to the Lennon–McCartney songwriting partnership. The band recorded the song with keyboardist Billy Preston; the single release with "Get Back" was credited to "the Beatles with Billy Preston". Originally released as a B-side, producer Phil Spector excluded the song from Let It Be. The song's first album appearance in stereo was on the North American collection Hey Jude, released in 1970, and on the global market collection 1967–1970, released in 1973. Lyrics: [Chorus: John Lennon & Paul McCartney] Don't let me down, don't let me down Don't let me down, don't let me down [Verse 1: John Lennon & Paul McCartney] Nobody ever loved me like she does Ooh, she does Yeah, she does And if somebody loved me like she do me Ooh, she do me Yes, she does [Chorus: John Lennon & Paul McCartney] Don't let me down, don't let me down Don't let me down, don't let me down [Bridge: John Lennon] I'm in love for the first time Don't you know it's gonna last? It's a love that lasts forever It's a love that has no past [Chorus: John Lennon & Paul McCartney] Don't let me down, don't let me down Don't let me down, don't let me down [Verse 2: John Lennon] And from the first time that she really done me Ooh, she done me She done me good I guess nobody ever really done me Ooh, she done me She done me good [Chorus: John Lennon & Paul McCartney] Don't let me down -hey!- don't let me down Please (don't let me down) don't let me down [Outro: John Lennon] Please (yeah, ow!) Ow! Don't let me down (Ow!) Don't let me down Can you dig it? Yeah (Don't let me down)64 views 1 comment
